Lucas is the all star at school, football player, jock, golden boy, but underneath lies something more than just football. When he steals a kiss from Gemma, he thinks that he will be able to wrap her around his little finger but doesn’t realise the resistance that he is going to come up against. With the help from his buddies and the rest of the school, he is certainly going to make Gemma bow down to him!
This book was a fast paced, steamy, can’t put down read. The relationship that Gemma and Lucas have borders on obsession and almost cruelty from Lucas’s side. He just doesn’t seem to understand how strong Gemma is and what she has been through previously. There are some redeeming characteristics to him in the sense that he is all out for Gemma (even though he doesn’t often go about it in the right way), but he is her protector, tormentor and saviour all-in-one and it was entertaining to watch the back and from from these two characters.
The only thing that read different for me was the characters ages as they felt older in my mind then they were on paper (school seniors) and some of the things they get up too nearly made my eyes pop out of my head :p
The secondary characters are amazing in this book and I’m intrigued and excited to read their story. If you like bully romances. Enemies to lovers with an amazing story and lots of steaminess in between then this book is the one for you!

I was confused throughout most of the book on whether or not Lucas was playing Gemma or not, it just didn't feel like his feelings for her were genuine and I was getting more worried as the book carried on. But, I feel that made me grip on as well - I was nervous waiting for the other shoe to drop (almost like Gemma) only to realise he was in fact the most sincere which was ADORABLE.
Gemma and Lucas were cute in some instances, when I believed their feelings for each other were real and I did enjoy seeing a small gradual shift in them. When Lucas stops saying he wants to destroy her, that's when I began to enjoy it a little more because let's be honest that was a bit extreme. But, the scene where he chases after in the rain her stole my heart, omg it was so cute.
I wanted more from Gemma, but I feel I'll definitely get that from Blair, I just wanted her to stand up for herself more - however, I don't think it's her nature and I respect that. To be honest, Gemma had it rough I was so annoyed with her TWIN, HER TWIN to begin with - who's supposed to protect her (I'm glad their relationship developed and now she has Lucas.)
Gemma and Lucas all in all were so adorable and I am SO EXCITED to carry on with this series and this author!
Other than that it was an interesting read and I'm looking forward to reading the next book more!
Gemma is an incredibly strong girl who has had to put up with so much at her previous school feeling let down and hurt but hides that all behind her mask to keep people out.
Saint is the stereotypical golden boy jock, the boys all want to be him and the girls want to be with him. 1 thing he can't get is the one thing he wants Gemna.
The way this story plays out is absolutely fantastic the story keeps you gripped the full way through. The ending with Carter is absolutely price less gets everything he deserves!!!
This is the 1st novel I have read by Veronica Eden and definitely not the last highly recommended. I absolutely can't wait to see how the rest of the series plays out.
The back and forth and sometimes awful things he does to her daily should mean she hates him forever but she seems to fall for his charm.
However his cocky GOD mask means he falls head over heels but makes a stupid mistake that makes her leave him and also puts her in danger of a predator in waiting.
I never warmed up to the male lead in this book, there wasn't enough of his softer side shown for me to find him likeable. In fact I spent most of the book strongly disliking the character. I read to the end but its not one that I would read again.
