Product Description

Edwin Allen Mercer
I want them all to read my words. And they do. Every last blood-stained sentence, they've read and praised me for. They love the gore and violence, the realness. And I get a sense of power with it all because I know a secret: the victims in my books—they’re real and have all died on my table. And maybe that’s why the last book had such awful reviews. Murder is, after all, a dirty little thing. Some can stomach it. Others can’t. My answer to those reviews: find a woman to co-author with. To be the next pathetic character in my book. Pity she’s so pretty.

Miranda Cross
All I’ve ever wanted was to be successful as a writer so when I was offered the opportunity to co-author a book with my idol, EA Mercer, I jumped at the chance. He’s beautiful and a literary genius, but something about him makes my stomach knot. And maybe it’s my overactive imagination making my hairs stand on end when he walks up behind me.
After all, these wicked little words we’re typing are only fiction. They’re only fiction…

Screaming will do no good....

Boy does the book make you want to scream! This is not my normal genre to read but i love both the authors so gave it a go. I was not disappointed.. An psychotic murderous author , a socially awkward author wannabe, alcoholic PA and a hot cop and they give you a rollercoaster of a ride! Blood , murder , sex and a twist that will leave you speechless. A genius concept fantastically well written. Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time..Its a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Addictively Suspenseful and Deliciously Twisted Story 31 October 2016

There are so many things I can say about Wicked Little Words. What I will say Stevie J. Cole and BT Urruela will leave their readers floored. I am still talking about this book. It’s one of those books that will make you think and want to re-read because everything will turn you upside down. I could use some choice words, but overall Wicked Little Words will leave you in shock and awe. This book is not for the faint hearted. What I love was how real this book felt from beginning to end. I literally had my mouth open throughout this book and at the end of the day I am a little scared of both of these authors. Their characters were just so insanely good and by good, I mean scary good. They sucked me in from the beginning of their prologue. EA Mercer, one of the main protagonists, is just one of those iconic characters that will stick with me for very long time. He’s creepy, incredibly methodical and he will for reals make you afraid to read this book in the dark and the light; while Miranda will keep you wanting more. She’s complex and she brings you into EA’s world so well. She's that nerdy, nervous yet intriguing character that makes you want to know more about her. I totally miss these two characters so much that I have a serious book hangover. Both authors have a way with words, so much so, it is hard to tell where one author begins and the other ends. They complement each other’s writing really well without too much push and pull that you can see sometimes in co-authored books. This book is a suspense/thriller book that will have you sitting at the edge of your seat. It's full of twists and turns that will scare you at times. I couldn’t put this book down. Those who love suspense, dark and twisted thrillers will absolutely love Wicked Little Words; and to those readers who haven’t read these types books still should give this book a try. It is definitely a full of surprises kind of book that will leave you questioning everything.

2.0 out of 5 stars Skip this and take a nap instead 6 January 2017

This book was laborious to slog though. Though it has many many flaws, I will only list a few of the most prominent. Mercer, Miranda, and Jax sound virtually interchangeable. The is no clear separate voice for any of the primary characters, and the ideas presented behind each of them are relentlessly hammered into the reader at every possible moment. It's insulting, as a reader, to be treated like we are not intelligent enough to understand, with a few subtle and well chosen words, that Mercer is an angry jerk. Or that Miranda is timid, though her dialogue throughout contradicts this. Or that Jax is troubled. Instead, these points are beaten into us over and over. There is nothing subtle in this book. There's also the problem of the best word, and while every word serves to drive home the plot without any style or finesse, there are so many places where a better word could have made a huge difference. It's also in present twnse, which when done well, works. Sadly, it's mangled here and sort of lurches around like a dying goat. Each chapter is uselessly headed by a song title and artist, ostensibly to help create a mood. This is a poor writers crutch, because a skilled writer would be able to use words and convey the images intended, rather than relying on some lame musical choice. And lets not even get onto the subject of the blatant sexual degradation of women throughout this book, which honestly jyst reads like someones excuse to put all their sick fantasies onto paper. And while the twist is surprising, it's also ridiculous, and the best part of this novel was just getting to the end. Do yourself a favor and skip this, because you aren't missing anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suspensful, plot-twist-galore! 17 November 2016

“Because that is one thing all humans have in common – we all have some type of demon riding our backs. Some are just far worse than others.”

Man oh man, this book was fantastic. I really didn’t know what to expect with the hype. Would it really be worth reading? Would it really be suspenseful? Would I really be thrown surprises throughout? Yes, yes, and yes! All the hype, for once, was well deserved with this book.

And let me tell you, I can usually figure out where a book like this is going. At some point, even if it’s closer to the end, I know. The authors let too many things slip, or were more obvious with clues than they thought they were, and it ends up being anti-climactic when the big boom happens. I thought I had things figured out here and there. But my thoughts and guesses kept changing. People that could or could not be involved, endings that may or may not happen. Finally, towards the end, I had 2 different scenarios I felt fairly confident in. The story HAD to end in one of these ways…..

And then I almost threw my kindle across the room when I realized everything I thought was utterly wrong, and that I didn’t see how this story would and did progress AT ALL.

You have to applaud the authors when they literally have you on the edge of your seat, and still throw you for a loop for the conclusion of the story. Great job to Stevie and BT, that’s for sure.

And can I just mention the last few lines of the story…..F***ing genius. Chills, I tell you, chills. Have you ever had a bookish moment when reading that you’d give ANYTHING to just *poof* have the author(s) in front of you when you finish reading so you can hug them, hit them, or worship them? Well, this made me kind of want to do all three. Geez, this book.

They also added some questions at the end that’s for discussions of Wicked Little Words, which is great. (If anyone wants to go over these with me and chat about WLW, please do so! Seriously, I need to get s*** off my chest! Lol)

Overall, as if you couldn’t tell already, I highly, HIGHLY, recommend this book. Fantastic read that’ll keep you guessing and flipping those pages like they’re on fire. Definitely go check it out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightfully Demented 1 November 2016

This is one of my favorite non-romance genres, Dean Koontz, Frank Peretti, Lisa Jackson, Ted Dekker, I love all the demented thoughts and actions of the anti-hero’s.

Wicked Little Words falls into this genre beautifully. Suspenseful, gruesome, disturbing and at times you hold your breath, before you allow your mind to absorb the mayhem created by Stevie J Cole and BT Urruela. It is hard to believe there are two authors writing this book, the writing is smooth, the story line impeccable, there are no tells in this story line, none… and as someone who has read hundreds of books in this genre, I know how to seek each clue. It would be so easy to lose track of the details and inadvertently give away crucial information, yet Stevie J Cole and BT Urruela pull off an intricate story as well or better some of the big names.

The writing and editing is almost flawless in this dark page turner, there is nothing to distract from the disturbing thoughts and actions of one EA Mercer, serial killer and author extraordinaire. Who I at times found myself feeling affection for and I may have had delusions of grandeur that this character could be somehow saved.

Miranda Cross is a socially awkward bombshell who will has both sexes panting after her, and she is clueless, both in love and in her newly acquired job as the co-writer to EA Mercers highly anticipated next best seller.

Jackson Peralta the cop who shuffles through life chasing bad guys, and not much tail. But I must tell you, he should chase more tail, because once he emerges from his self-imposed shell, he is one dirty mouth talking good guy.

When the last word has been read remember this…
“I can see twisted demons fighting behind that smile.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliantly Written with a Twisted and Unique Storyline 4 November 2016

I read all different Genres...I'm not a strictly romance kind of girl...But I will say I was absolutely terrified to read this book after reading the synopsis and actually debated whether or not I would be able to get through reading it...Curiosity for the best of me I had pre-ordered it and when I saw it on my kindle I just had to crack it open! This book pulled me in and I finished it the same day I started. And OMG and I glad I did! BT Urruela and Stevie J Cole were absolutely brilliant in their flawless writing! It was so refreshing to read a story with such a unique and different storyline where you didn't know what was going to happen next...because believe me you won't see the ending coming it will leave you speechless. Definitely worth the read!!!
