Wicked Grind J. Kenner 🌟🌟🌟🌟 there will never be enough Stark stars.
I’ve got to say, I love everything about Damien Stark and the Stark empire, so hello another story, this time the men who hold roles in the Stark Conglomerate. In Wicked Grind we meet Wyatt Segal and the woman who brings him to his knees, Kelsey Draper. When she showed up on his doorstep, to take on a modelling role, things were not pleasant. This pair shared a torrid past that has carried to their older years. The way she walked out on him, left him years earlier have forever played on his mind, he should despise her, hate her but that hate turns his imagination to her body, the body he needs as his muse for his upcoming show.
Good, sweet little Kelsey finds herself wanting to take on the role, but with Wyatt’s apparent revenge scheme, Kelsey sees no other way to get the money for her brother. What Wyatt doesn’t know is the reason she walk away, up and left him those years ago. She had loved him but THAT night changed everything, for her, for her family and the future.
Now 12 years later, Kelsey needs to change, her father’s horrible treatment constantly plays in her mind. She needs Wyatt in more ways than one, he can make or break her. She is the perfect woman for his show, he must forgive and forget the past and Kelsey must push mental images of her father away to push forward. She will be in for the biggest fight to win against Wyatt.
Together, Wyatt and Kelsey will journey through lust, hate, bringing up the past, the hurt that occurred and finally love. It doesn’t come easily but worth the end result. Wyatt will learn what Kelsey dealt with after that night, and Kelsey will open up to the only man that has truly awaken her inner woman.
I felt for Kelsey. She feels invisible but it doesn’t help that her father is overbearing and controlling which has truly shaped how she reacts. As she works at the country club, she catches Wyatt’s eye. Wyatt comes from Hollywood royalty, he struggles with establishing his identify out of the shadow of his family members. Deep down, these two share a similar struggle with defining who they are based on their own passion and beliefs and not what their family dictates. A beautiful friendship grows into a wonderful romance until one fateful night. When they are suddenly pushed back into each other’s orbit 12 years later, this becomes a trial of finding forgiveness when you never stopped loving someone. This was not an easy road and that night was full of surprises. They both had to overcome so much over the years but as Wyatt’s career is on the verge of exploding, Kelsey is still struggling with following her true passion. Will Wyatt’s return into her life be what she needs to break free from her father’s “chains”? Dive in for this beautifully sexy and drama filled romance. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
More books in the kind-of-Stark Universe - woohoo!
I loved everything about Wicked Grind. I adored our lovelies, Wyatt and Kelsey, I loved their story, gah I just wanted more.
Told in dual POVs and in past and present tense, I felt like I fell in love with these characters twice.
This book has a bit of everything. It made me laugh, but it made me cry. It is sexy and sweet and full of love, but also oh so sad at times. I just wanted to jump into the book and give everyone a big bear hug.
There are some fantastic secondary characters - I adore Kelsey's brother Griffin, and hope we get more of him in the future.
I loved the little glimpse we got of Nikki and Damien and Jackson and Sylvia.
I don't want to give anything away, so just know that I was hooked on this book right from the start, and couldn't wait to turn each page to see where we were taken.
