I really enjoyed this story of a ragtag crew on a life-threatening magical scavenger hunt. A few times the characters missed things which seemed obvious to me, but I suppose they were a bit busy either trying not to die or flirting.
The romance is sweet, enemies to lovers with plenty of tension and I hope they kick it up a notch in the next book.
I love the morally grey characters in this, it makes the plot so much more interesting. There is definitely something sinister going on and I can't wait for that reveal.
The setting is really cool too, very atmospheric, and it adds to the mystery and the danger.

Not only does he get an expensive ring but also the endangerment it puts his life in 🍀🍀 Ooohhhh what a start to a series 😃 this was a full-on, suspense filled, paranormal romance and what a delight. I was on the edge of my seat and I was so excited to keep turning pages to find out what was going on. Slate was sexy (maybe a new book boyfriend 😉), Cadence was cute ☺️ and Adrien was so annoying I was to throw him in a river 🙄 I love the idea that a world without magic doesn’t meant that it doesn’t exist 🤯 classic magic/found family/slow burn romance storyline and I am here for all of it 😁 I loved Slate, his arrogance and swagger are just a yes, and what a way to start meeting people (SPOILER) by robbing their family crypt 😂😂 And Rainer is definitely 100% evil and may not have shown it in this book but I am so excited to find out in book 2 😃😃
