I was prepared to not like this episode as much based on the first chapter I read, since it dealt with two of the characters I least like, and it dealt with them hooking up. But by the end of the book, I was actually feeling some sympathy for Dakota. I give kudos to the author for giving us that extra glimpse into Dakota's thoughts in order to see that she's just a lost, confused little girl.

The thing I was most pleased to read was the possible lesbian relationship between Payton and Francine. I was going to say it was subtext, but it's really not. There can only be so much subtext when writing from the point of view of one of the characters, where you have to spell out the character's thoughts. It wouldn't have read as well had we not had that insight into Payton's feelings. In film, this could have been shown with more of a subtext, but it's hard to do that with little dialogue. And I'm all for blatant homosexuality in books I read. Honestly, I look for even the slightest hint of it in anything I read, and seeing it spelled out clearly is a welcome thing, in my opinion.

I also really like that we're seeing just how much Dillon wants to help Joanna. He's a good guy that's making questionable choices in the name of love. And really, that's a soap opera staple. I can definitely get behind that. As well as the continuing descriptions of him. I'd love to know if the authors of this series have certain casting ideas in mind while they're writing.

All in all, this was a good episode. It moved some stories along, and gave us more insight into some of the characters. Some characters were neglected, but they can't all be in such short books (except for probably the finale of this season). I'd definitely recommend it, and I look forward to reading more.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not sure if this read is going to be amazing, or a disappointing ok read. 13 October 2015

I feel like this story is just introducing us to everyone is this small town but failing to really get to the "meat"of the storyline. Come on twists and turns and intruige and the sexy and steamy. Its two books in now and its moving at a snails pace. Book one gave us some good juice on the town's people but book two has moved on to other town folks. The only person making his way from book to book is our sleazy Senator, which believe me I love to hate him but please keep the storyline steamy and emotional and for goodness sakes flowing and start pouring on the twists and turns now because I'm not sure if this read is worth it yet. I'm thinking this is either going to get amazing or it's just going to continue to be just a disppointing ok read.let's see what story 3 does because if it doesn't do much I'm done.
5.0 out of 5 stars More secrets, lies, and tangling of the web that is Storm. 5 October 2015
By Colorado Avid Reader - Published on Amazon.com

The story continues but has much less action in the aftermath of Ginny's accident, Jacob's death, and Hector's abrupt departure from Storm, thanks to the Sheriff. It's more about reactions and consequences and emotional responses. The web is even more tangled as Dakota acts out and ties up with Sebastian; Francine and Payton seem on the precipice of something more than friendship; and Dillon works to help Joanne cope with being out from under Hector's abuse and standing on her own. Plotting, planning, secrets, and lies. These seem to be at the heart of Storm.

This second episode is a beautifully-written story about human emotions and behaviors as a result of the events that took place in the first action-packed installment. These are "do-not-miss" reads.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent New Series 17 October 2015

This episode is basically about Dakota Alvarez. This teenager is in a very bad place and makes some decisions that could completely alter her life. But make no mistake, the stories of the other Storm residence keep moving forward in this episode.
5.0 out of 5 stars Secrets & Lies At It's Best 1 October 2015

Just when you thought the town of Storm Texas couldn't hold anymore secrets more lies and webs of deceit are spun.
Dakota Alvarez who always thinks her Daddy can do no wrong finds out the hard way just what kind of man he really is but does the Sherriff have something to do with that.
Senator Rush is definitely a looks can deceiving kind of man.
Ginny Moreno has so many secrets that can the guilt be getting to her.
If you are looking for a book that will have you turning the pages as fast as you can read them just to see what happens next then this is the one for you
