First read by Stevie J. Cole and will read more by this author! Whiskey Lullaby was sweet and beautiful! The preacher's daughter meets the badboy! Loved Noah & Hannah's story, till things went pear shaped! You kept me hanging till the every end as to how this story ends Stevie!
This is the first time I have actually read a book written by Stevie J Cole, and if this book is anything like her other books, then I can’t wait to read what else she has written! This book is so beautifully written that I could not take my eyes off the pages. I wanted to devour it in one sitting.
Hannah is such a sweetheart of a character. She is always making sure everyone is happy around her, even if that means sacrificing her happiness to do so. She kind of reminds me a lot of myself in that aspect. Noah is such a great male character. He is a little broken, he’s a bad boy and a bit of a player. Besides all of that he is such a sweetheart! The way he cares for his grandma is beautiful and when he loves he loves with everything he has. Grandma Doris is one of the best characters! She is so funny and sassy, I just loved her. I also laughed so much when Benji sang ‘Fat guy in a little coat’, oh that reminded me of so many happy memories from my childhood and the movie it goes along with!
This story had me giggling in parts but it also had me tearing up. It was the perfect balance of emotions. The chemistry between Hannah and Noah is definitely felt through this story and there was that anticipation within, waiting for what might happen between them. This story is just such a sweet slow burning romance and I absolutely loved it.
I had not read anything done by Stevie J Cole before, so I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but it's fair to say I was pretty hooked right from the start.
Whiskey Lullaby tells the story of Hannah, the preachers daughter, and Noah, the bad boy. Seems like a typical good girl meets bad boy read, but it is so much more, and they are so much more than the stereotyped characters. The story took me on a roller coaster of emotion, laughing at some wonderfully witty parts and crying at some of harder moments.
I couldn't put this book down, and I highly recommend this beautiful story.
This is something completely differently from this author I’m so used to her dark books and I was intrigued to see what she would bring and I wasn’t disappointed at all.
Hannah is the typical preachers daughter, growing up she was the good girl who never rocked the boat until Noah. I liked how we got the perfect mix of the past and present so we get to see how their fledgling relationship moves from friends to more and how it all fell apart.
I may have something wrong with me but I love reading a book that breaks me and gives me those feels and Stevie does that with amazing ease. Such a beautiful well written story.

Ooooooh all the feels! I love me a good old fashioned love story and this is exactly what you get!
Hannah is a good girl. Being the preachers daughter at age 20 she's still a virgin. She's not interested in boys. She's been studying hard and is now a nurse. She's come home to help her father look after her sick mother. She has a lot on her shoulders and sometimes she just needs an escape. Her best friend takes her to bar and she hears the most beautiful voice she has ever heard. The person singing is a man she shouldn't go for. He's from the wrong side of the tracks and has heartbreak written all over him but she can't resist the draw of him.
Noah is doing the best he can to get by. With his badboy reputation this is hard to do. He tries to take care of his grandmother the only person who was ever there for him. Abandoned by his parents he knows he's no good and ruins everything he touches. The only thing he's good at is singing. He has a gig at a local bar that gets him by. His grandmother finds him a job helping out at the Preachers farm after taking him to church. In church he see's the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. She's sobbing and he can't tear his eyes away from her. Later in the bar he spots the same girl. He knows she's good and he shouldn't taint her but he can't help it.
Both know they shouldn't be with each other but their hearts are drawn together on a whole different level. He's the badboy the whole town warned her against. She's the good girl he will taint by just talking to her.
Gah!!! They're so sweet together!! I loved them.
Noah was just given a bum ride from birth and i hated how the whole town judged him. He was so sweet under the rough exterior. The way his only aim was to make Hannah smile stole my heart! He knew what she was going through but wasn't the best with words so he did the only thing he could. Brighten her dark days just a little. Who doesn't love a man who would do that for you!
Hannah was although vulnerable, pretty strong in her own right. She knew everyone would warn her against him but she still wanted him anyway. I loved how she pushed herself when he was around to do things she wouldn't usually. She just loved him it was a simple as that. Her relationship with her mom was amazing and that was a lovely thing to read throughout the book. Mom was always there to guide her.
I gotta be honest they could have done with a banging of heads at certain points but that's what makes a great romance. The fact that you care enough to want to do that. That you care enough to yell at your kindle saying "Just bleeding say it!" lol.
The writing as always with Stevie J. Cole was spot on. She draws you into her world and makes you part of it. I felt like one of the ladies in the Beauty shop getting the inside scoop!
Drawn in from the start it takes you on Hannah and Noah's journey. You feel their uncertainty and fears and it cracks your heart but by the end you also feel their relief, love and happiness.
Fantastic read if you want to relax and enjoy a fabulous love story.

Whiskey Lullabies is a sweet as sugar, country singer romance starring Hanna and Noah. Hanna being a nurse who is also taking care of her sick mother and Noah being the town bad boy with a voice of gold. Tragedy, angst and a misunderstanding tear the two apart but their love story is a beautiful, bittersweet journey that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm used to Stevie as a dark romance but this contemporary romance of hers was just as good!

Favorite Quote: “As much as we want to pretend we’re in control of our lives, we aren’t. Control is a pretty façade we dance behind to make it through each day, because when you really accept that you aren’t in charge of your own fate, it makes you feel trapped.”
Review: This was a cute story. I was a bit confused on the time line but that was my own fault, I missed the dates at the top of the chapter header. I was expecting the story to go a bit differently than it did but it was still good. I do got the feeling that the characters where younger than they actually where. Each time Hannah was talking about her job it was a reminder that she was 20 and not 15. I do wish that Noah had to grovel a bit more before getting her back. It was over rather quickly. And Hannah dropped everything quite fast, but that could be just me.
