Yes good book. Enjoyed this and the people in the
Book Peggy .And Ron. And her Household of Boarders
Fran. Rita. They seem that with reading about them from
Early books. Of Cliffhaven and the Beachview Boarding
House. That you feel you come to know them.
I though Mary's Mother or shall I say Adoptive mother.
Whom Mary had. Been pressed upon her from her husband
And didn't want the child .that wasn't hers. She didn't see
Mary as her child. And would not. But brought her up for
Her Husband .but she did not love her. And certainly
Didn't show any either. But her father whom she loved showed
Great love and care. Who Mary became to know Gideon as
Her father till the Bomb hit her house. And killed them both.
Mary blamed herself at first. For leaving the house to see her
Fiancee off at the station. He was going off to war.
After Mary found some diaries that were her father's and they
Led her to Cliff haven in search of her real Father and Mother.
She will find out about them. But not in while we're apart.
A book further on .which i read just recently..about Peggy and
family. The book is called Sealed with a loving Kiss.
Read that. It is a good compelling saga. That will help Mary
To understand her Parent Hood. She discovers the truth in
That book .so do read these. This one first. They are a real
Good read about the war Years second WW2 .
Great read worth a Five star . But Sealed with a loving Kiss
By the Same Author Ellie Dean is well worth the Five stars
And more. That has lots. Of intrigue and happiness. And
Sadness. But this is a book to be read first. To get you into
The inside of the story of Mary wood. Do read this it's a
Lovely fireside and bedtime book. Enjoyed this. Thank you
Ellie Dean. . Both great reads.

Ellie Dean brings us back to Cliffehaven to see how life is treating Peggy Reilly and her many friends..
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 January 2015Verified Purchase
While We're Apart written by Ellie Dean is another wonderful read which I thoroughly enjoyed from page one as we pay another visit to Cliffehaven into the warm home of Peggy Reilly and her many friends, even her sister Doris brought many smiles to my face as she lives her life in her ivory tower looking down at all those commoners she just loves to judge.
The first part of the book is based on Mary who is the main character of this book in this very entertaining series. Mary Jones is a lovely girl being brought up by the only parents she has ever known. When war brings its own tragedy to Mary and her family, she is left alone in the world except for her dear friends Joe and Barbara and they soon show their support in a very loving way.
Mary leaves for Cliffehaven and this is when the story really begins and I loved each new page, but Mary has just not picked Cliffehaven for the town's beauty as she has questions she needs answered and she is hoping those answers will be there for her in Cliffehaven where a new job and a new life waits on her.
I have to say this book was so fresh compared to the earlier books in the series as Mary's own story took up a lot more of this book which for me give me a better connection to her as a reader.
The story is heart breaking yet heartening as friends rally round, as Mary gets to know new people their friendship gives her strength from within and her story was as exciting and as readable as Ellie's earlier books in the series. This book was a wonderful read which had me laughing out loud so many times while Ron and Harvey do their heroic stunts saving lives the only way they know how and as always Ron shows his soft side in the most unexpecting ways but for me he was the major character who connected each of the characters while loving his darling Rosie.
This is a wonderful read and as you once again visit the beautiful seaside town of Cliffehaven which is so well described by the author I feel I know I could find my way around it without map or direction.
While We're Apart written by Ellie Dean is the eight book in this wonderful series and now I am excitedly waiting for number nine Sealed With a Loving Kiss as I know we will meet Mary once again with the very entertaining Ivy.
Ellie Dean also writes under the name of Tamara McKinley and this is just one of her marvellous reads Firestorm she has written many wonderful books which I would recommend to anyone who likes to read a wonderful fiction read woven with the many events of the past.

Top Notch Read Once Again!

How Ellie Dean has managed to write all these books and keep us enthralled in every one I have so far read (this is book 8).
The Cliffehaven saga goes from strength to strength and I for one am totally captivated!
All the characters from previous books keep popping up or are given a mention and this time we are left with a cliffhanger !
Roll on this evening when I will be starting Book 9
All in all this saga is great to read especially through these dark times we are faced with.

Feels Like a Storyline "Filler"
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 February 2015Verified Purchase
I really do enjoy the Beach View Boarding House series, so much so that I even pre-ordered this instalment, which is something I rarely do with Kindle books. When it came out I pretty much halted the book I had been reading and started immediately on While We're Apart.
I'm a bit disappointed. I can't help but feel that nothing of note really took place during this part... I didn't feel connected to the new character, Mary, and I'm a little put out that so much was left unresolved... It actually feels as if this part is just wasting some time until the writer decides where she wants the overall story to go.
I will continue reading the series as long as it runs, but only because of the well-established characters I've already come to love (Ron, Peggy, Harvey, Jim...) My loyalty to the saga won't be because of this rather dull part.

First time I've read this author and quite enjoying it - story seems well researched and well presented, writing's tight and I very quickly identified with characters and their lives and soon was living with them - will certainly be looking to buy this author's books again - nice balance between relaxed holiday read and something slightly more demanding but not too much - good bedtime read and liked the characters in the book and her setting, which the author knows well I believe....I was soon walking down the lanes and smelling the fields and feeling the rain and I found the book a welcome relief from the tough times I'm living in today...Would certainly recommend - Squirrel 59 - Sat 28.2.15
