Brody is such a breathe of fresh air, he marches to the beat of his own drum and his stubbornness is unwavering when he believes in his whole heart the choices he makes are right. I love that about him. His gift with the broken horses is something to be hold and his fierce protective nature had me from the beginning. A survivor in every sense of the word but more than that he is a wonderful role model for his son.. Shiloh was his equal in every sense and the pull between these two was amazing. l am loving this series so hard and can't wait to see how the family unit continues to interact...
I devoured this book in one sitting and can not recommend it enough....
2.5 stars ⭐️
Brody was just perfection and had me swoonier than ever.
This story gripped you, it pulled you in taking every emotion from you and leaving you breathless.
Brody and Shiloh together were awe-inspiring. The chemistry, the banter the emotions they both betrayed had you captivated.
Emery writes these amazing love stories that pull at your heart strings and keep you begging for more.
Brody really was a dirty talking cowboy with a wild streak and protective nature that made hearts fill your eyes and your leave a permanent smile on your face. Not to mention the dripping desire he left with that dirty mouth of his.
I can't wait for more and am so excited to read more about these McCallister men.

It's the epic journey of a love story between Shiloh Leroux and Brody McAllister. We meet Brody in When The Stars Fall and see him as a fun loving youngster and seemingly, easy going guy. But there was also always a bit of something brewing beneath the surface with him. And Emery completely unleashed him in WTSB. He's curt and brisk and somewhat rude. He doesn't have the time, energy or desire for games and drama. He's all man now. Hardened. A little rough around the edges. But he has a good heart and it's in the right place. He's a hot AF single dad to Noah. There were times when he had me swooning. He was complex and had a past that's not the easiest to overcome and it's a small miracle he turned out okay and to be such a hard worker and a good man/father. Also, quite the southern charmer.
This was also one of those books where I'm not sure if I loved the hero or the heroine more. I have a MAJOR girl crush on Shiloh. Would love to be friends with that girl. She was strong, subtle, driven and kind. Brave and took no crap. Held her own but was still a good friend and grounded. Humble and loyal. She's made her fair share of mistakes over the years which just proves she's human. And she has her own rather tragic past to deal with but she was beautiful, even in the moments she allowed herself to be weak in. She was fun and entertaining.
The chemistry between these two was INSANE when it finally broke pun intended). There was a push and pull between them for a while. Man, did they fight it. But together they were combustible, pure fire 🔥 They were funny and good friends with plenty of banter and cute moments. I loved their relationship. A very unique dynamic but still kept realistic. My pony boy and rockstar! 😍
What can you expect from WTSB?
✅ Swoony single dad
✅ Sloooowwww burn 🔥
✅ Country/small town vibes
✅ Fabulous cast of characters
✅ Heroine you'll adore
You can always expect articulate writing from Rose. You can see the research has been done with how vivid and accurately she writes. You literally feel her bleed herself out onto the pages. I'm so insanely excited for the rest of this series. I just know it's going to be phenomenal. Jesse, Gideon, Ridge. The whole range! And I mean, just look at that cover! 😍💙

I really didn’t want to like Brody but darn it, he really is a lush cowboy. His relationship with Shiloh is so unlikely it’s basically laughable but they work! Honesty love these two together even if I did want to drop kick them a couple of times. I was hooked by the lady balls from the get go. You won’t be disappointed 💙
The rock star and her cowboy. I loved watching these two opposites find the perfect cadence with each other that took each by surprise, yet felt perfectly right just the same. Although from vastly different worlds, both Shiloh and Brody hid out in the open holding onto all the pain they endured as children and young adults. The spiritual component was a great addition when both of these stubborn souls could feel each other like no one else could and a few coincidences put themselves in one another's path through the years. Talk about made for each other, I like to think much like Shiloh does, that their love was destined in the stars or perhaps just at the knee of a wise Maw-Maw.
What is wonderful for me is that we get all the missing components of what really did transpire between Brody and Lila as he finally comes to grips with his feelings and love for the mother of the adorable Noah. This book filled in all the holes I was still curious about in When the Stars Fall and it also brought a ton to light wrt Patrick, Kate and the rest of the McCallister crew. More than a few tense moments come to a head but Rose allows Brody and Jude, in particular, to finally figure themselves out. I was glad to see that despite Brody's gruff nature, that he could find it within himself to learn to forgive. Even if just a little bit.
Shiloh is a breath of fresh air. I loved her feisty nature and her true appreciation for Brody's life and how only she could decipher the hesitance he had at getting close to someone. Even with all she had to deal with in her professional life, I adored how she stayed patient and caring of her cowboy and gave him her full attention even when he didn't necessarily want i. They are true kindred spirits with muddied pasts but the drive to be better for someone you can't help but love ends up being just what they both needed in order to truly live their best lives. Not to mention the insane amount of chemistry between them which lead to some amazingly sexy trysts. I'm not surprised they couldn't keep their hands off each other!
This book had my stomach in knots on more than one occasion but to get to see Shiloh and Brody find their one true love despite all the crazy of her fame, his guilt and their inevitable separations, was worth every tear shed and every demon threatening to rear its ugly head. Add in the testy but endearing Ridge and the man I need to more about, one Bastian Cox (cheeky last name) and this was one incredible read.
I do hope more is to come since Emery Rose has created a wonderful cast of characters that feel a bit like family now. I enjoyed When the Storm Breaks immensely, leaving me with a huge grin on my face and my heart completely full.
5 huge stars!
Brody McAllister is broken. He rescues and heals “broken” horses for a living. He has a troubled past that he hasn’t willingly shared with many people, and because of his past, he has built his walls so high, they’re almost impossible to break down. He’s not looking for a relationship.
Shiloh Leroux is pursuing her solo career as a singer. She is in desperate need of a break from that life, and what better place to hide out than the guest house on Brody McAllister’s property? Not only is this town away from her normal life, but there’s also something here she’s looking for.
After meeting Brody in WTSF, I was really looking forward to his story. I was definitely thrown. I was not expecting our broken, bad boy bronc riding cowboy to end up with a feisty, bad ass rock star - the chances are “one in a million.”
With that being said, I did enjoy this book. I loved that we met his brother, Ridge, seeing Brody interact with his son, Noah. Noah is just the absolute cutest and had me laughing a few times. I loved how we still caught glimpses of the rest of the McAllister family.
Brody is caring, has a heart of gold under his hard exterior, and an amazing father. Can’t forget about his dirty talking! We learned more about Brody’s past, the way he grew up, the things he went through, and my heart absolutely broke for him.
Shiloh is feisty, strong, and goes after what she wants. I had a hard time connecting with her throughout this story, but once I learned everything she’s been through and the choices she’s had to make in life, my heart definitely went out to her.
Shiloh and Brody’s connection and relationship is unique. They are complete opposites, but it’s easy to see how they are the calm to each other's storms. Their attraction is instant, and the banter between them is great. Shiloh quickly begins breaking down Brody’s walls, no matter how hard he tries to keep her out. They’re both drawn to each other, and can’t stay away.
