This book is a great follow up to Song of Solomon. If you have not read the first book don't feel bad. The author does a tremendous job bringing you up to speed and also reintroducing the characters. This book focuses more on developing the other characters of the story. This love story candidly unveils the insecurities, tenderness, and audaciousness involved in falling in love after the loss of a love one.
The main character Solomon, is the ideal man or should I say husband. He is God fearing, educated, and loves children. Solomon has a wonderful job being over a Christian school. He is divorced and has been left with a deep emotional hold on his heart. Solomon continues to grieve the lost of his failed married and also his best friend and brother, Dwayne. Solomon has a remarkable gift of singing. After his brother died he no longer felt that passion for it until he realizes what a true blessing his voice can be.
Solomon's love interest, Shaylnn is responsible for most of the changes occurring in Solomon's life. She has been a widow for over 6 years. Her husband was violently murder and his killer was never caught. Shaylnn wants to give her heart to Solomon but she has trouble letting her dead husband go.
As this story unfolds, both characters experience the true meaning of forgiving past hurts and opening their hearts for love. This love story is remarkable and truly shows that through love we can overcome some of life's most difficult circumstances.
