Product Description

Despite the bitter winter in South Lick, Indiana, business is still hot at Robbie Jordan’s restaurant. But when another murder rattles the small town, can Robbie defrost the motives of a cold-blooded killer?
Before she started hosting dinners for Indiana University’s Sociology Department at Pans ‘N Pancakes, Robbie never imagined scholarly meetings could be so hostile. It’s all due to Professor Charles Stilton, who seems to thrive on heated exchanges with his peers and underlings, and tensions flare one night after he disrespects Robbie’s friend, graduate student Lou. So when Robbie and Lou go snowshoeing the next morning and find the contentious academic frozen under ice, police suspect Lou might have killed him after their public tiff. To prove her friend’s innocence, Robbie is absorbing local gossip about Professor Stilton’s past and developing her own thesis on the homicide—even if that means stirring up terrible danger for herself along the way . . .

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome back to South Lick!!!!! 2 April 2017

I am in love with Robbie and South Lick! This is such a fun series and I really enjoy how things progress with each new book! Every time I read a book in this series, I end up feeling like I must cook something wonderful for breakfast the next day, or get out one of my vintage kitchen gadgets
to use. As hard as Robbie works in the shop, and renovating the upstairs for her hoped for Bed and Breakfast rooms, she still has time for exercise and it is while she is out snowshoeing with her friend Lou that they find the dead body in an ice fishing hole. Unfortunately with Lou and a couple of other friends as suspects Robbie feels the need to ask questions, and if that is not enough, someone seems to have found a way to access the store and her new/old space without her knowledge. Will she be able to figure out what is going on or is she this time headed for serious trouble?? A trip to South Lick is definitely worth your time to find out!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Page turner 29 March 2017

I have been patiently awaiting this next book in the Country Store Mystery and loved it. ( I had the fortunate privilege of finding the series after the first two books were already out). I love the Country Store/Restaurant and it makes me hungry to think of all the good food that is served there and it makes me want to try the recipes that are included in the book. I would also like to meet some of the characters that hang out there, as long as one of them is not a murderer.
Robbie finds herself involved in solving the murder of a professor when she and her friend Lou din them while exploring the outdoors. When Lou is deemed a suspect, Robbie decides to clear his name even though it exposes her to danger as well.
I received a copy of this book from the author, but the review is entirely my own.
5.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed this book in the series 7 April 2017

I enjoyed this book in the series, as I have read the first two books in the series. When the Grits Hit the Fan brings back country store owner and amateur sleuth Robbie Jordan, as well as the rest of the inhabitants of the small town of South Lick, Indiana. Which includes a bunch of down home characters and setting. Where the sheriff and his one deputy are cousins, everything on the main drag is within walking distance, the business is still booming at the Pan and Pancakes. It's early spring in South Lick, and on top of it still being covered in snow. Robbie's little country store and restaurant is booming for business. There's a party down the Pan N' Pancakes, well more like a scholarly dinner, for the sociology department at Indiana University. Robbie agrees to host it for her friend and fellow cyclist, Lou Pearlman. There is going well until Charles Stilton, a professor in the department, not only insults Lou but just do a fight with his wife, Maude as well as the department chair, Zen Brown. As the night dies down Robbie and Luo prepare for an early morning of icefishing. That is until they both find Charles partially frozen underwater, and Lou becomes the main suspect.

The series so far has been a great series to read, books 1-3. I've enjoyed the setting as well as the characters, including the main character Robbie. On top of owning a restaurant she is a avid puzzle solver, which is a great trait for a amateur detective. I look forward to the rest of the series and can't wait for the next book.

Robbie Jordan is settling down nicely in South Lick, Indiana. She owns her own restaurant and is renovating the upstairs into rooms to add a bed and breakfast. With the help of her boyfriend Abe, she is tearing down the walls and finds some unusual items. Even in the slow season business heats up when there is a murder and the victim was seen having words with several people in the restaurant. Can Robbie find the clues to clear her friends and find the real murderer before anyone else gets killed?

5.0 out of 5 stars Killer Mystery! 29 March 2017

Great murder mystery. Lots of twists & turns send the reader in many directions trying to find the murderer. Jordan, a puzzler lover gets caught up trying to solve the mystery. Love the way Jordan's & Abe's relationship is progressing, too. All in all, a killer addition to the Country Store Mystery!
