Product Description

Why would fate bring them together only to tear them apart?
Lily and Gavin were brought together in a clash of tragedy and chaos. Amid the ashes of lives gone wrong, they thought they found a second chance at love. With trouble from their previous lives lurking around every corner, they quickly learned that love from a star-crossed romance isn’t enough to survive.
Lily has slipped through Gavin’s fingers, and he feels as though he’s been sentenced to an eternity in hell. But if he’s going to perish in the ninth circle, everyone responsible for coming between him and Lily will go down with him.
Perhaps their love was never meant to be. But, if he’s learned anything from his time with Lily, it’s that sometimes everything has to crash and burn before life can begin again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thumbs ups- favorite of series. Solid 4.5 13 May 2015

(If you want to read my other two reviews to see where my heads at, go read those and come back). Okay my complaints about h then the H in last two- resolved. Although the characters both went through trauma events, they didn't do the push away to annoying thingy.

This is a hard series for me to grade. If I based it on writing style, story telling ability, this last book is a solid 5 stars. if I based on suspense/mystery, again 5 stars. However, erotic literature a 4, romance lit a 4.25. Really there were hot scenes, but not at all at erotic lit frequency. I mean this is a great roller coaster, what the heck are these characters going to go thru next book, but not a romance steamy roller coaster. You've been warned - so no bad reviews cause not what you thought it was going to be.

With that said, yes definitely I would buy other books by this author as she writes a great tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars Didn't want it to end 14 July 2015

I’ll admit that I have been putting off writing this review, simply because I’m STILL in book hangover over a week later and I just don’t want to say goodbye to Lily and Gavin. (Especially Gavin…**shakes my head**) I don’t generally just give away five star reviews. You’ve gotta prove it to me. But this whole series held me from the very beginning and would not let me go until the last word. Now I’m in the dreaded book hangover, and still want more. I haven’t been in hangover since I read The Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) series. There are just some characters that pack up their stuff and move into your head when you read a really great book. I guess I will have to resign myself to Lily and Gavin living in my head for awhile - I’m sure Lily and Tyrion will get along just fine (haha)

This is the best trilogy I have read...in forever, I’m having a hard time finding something to compare it to. Matter of fact, I’m tempted to buy it in paperback, just so I can sit it on my shelf.

Spoilers, folks, can’t do this without them:

The hunt is on as this book opens. Gavin is devastated, thinking that the cartel has killed his beloved Lily. He brings all of his vast wealth and influence to bear, calling in friends from his time in the service with one mission: destroy the cartel, burn them down and salt the earth. The group of special ops and black ops commandos are more than capable, and before long they have a plan to move. Then word comes back from the investigation: the body in Gavin’s apartment wasn’t Lily. Then the hunt really begins, because even though the chance is a slim one, there is the chance that Lily is still alive.

I was destroying my fingernails for the first 30% of this book, because while Gavin had no clue that Lily was alive, we the reader had no doubt. When the hitmen from the cartel discovered Lily in the apartment they couldn’t believe their luck - they had carried out the execution (they thought) on their target, and now had a fresh girl to sell on the black market to boot. They locked her up in an abandoned storage facility and began to make arrangements to sell her to the highest bidder. But Lily is tougher than they take her for and she soon turns the tables on her captors. (Great scenes, I was on the edge of my seat!)

This story was fast paced, and funny without being stupid. The characters only occasionally made me want to strangle them, but you gotta have conflict for a story right? (Isla, I’m looking at you - I really wanted to punch you.) Even though Lily managed to get herself out of some very hairy situations she didn’t come off like supergirl or like she was invincible. Her struggle to regain her sense of safety and security was very well done. I could easily see her suffering from a form of PTSD for years to come because of her experiences. And Gavin. Oh my lord, Gavin. He was just perfect. So patient and understanding, so protective. So...together, even though he was falling apart at the thought of losing her. Also, how can you not love a man who drops to his knees at every opportunity? (After all that’s how we know it’s FICTION, right? haha) Seriously, despite Gavin and Lily’s faults - and never fear, they both have them - you love them anyway.

Even with Lily rescued, the couple is soon faced with the ugly truth - the cartel is not going to stop, and they don’t care who they hurt along the way. Some good friends are lost, along with many innocent lives. They proceed with the original plan, along with the help of the FBI, Interpol, the Mafia, and various other outfits. But the cartel has a couple of aces up its sleeve; the leader is someone from Lily’s past, someone who knows her well. Therefore he knows just how to hurt her and draw her out by kidnapping a child she has a connection to. The tension and action ramps up and up to a conclusion that had me shouting at my Kindle.

I have to take a minute to shout out the supporting characters. Em and Max are so well written. I loved seeing how Lily’s “death” changed Em. This author does powerful drama work. I’m having a really hard time believing that this is her debut work(s). Max is spinning even more out of control in this story and just digging the hole he’s made for himself deeper and deeper. I’m really hoping for a sequel that focuses on him. And Em as well, although I’m not sure they should end up together.

This book almost gave me a heart attack there towards the end, but this one happily does not end on a cliffhanger. But it did leave me wishing for more.
5.0 out of 5 stars Gavin and Lily!! 4 June 2015

I love a strong-minded woman and Lily is it! What courage to finish what her husband started. And to have Gavin at her side through it all is amazing. I was actually saddened to see bad things happen to a couple of the "bad guys", because even bad guys have a softer side.
Gavin and Lily are my new favorite couple! They can do anything as long as they do it together.
From page one of When Fates Collide, I have read non-stop. This was a book I absolutely could not put down, because I could not wait to see what happens next. I did not want it to end, but of course, it has.
All I can do now is wait for Isabelle Richards to write her next amazing book.
I will wait patiently.........

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Conclusion to a great series. 6 May 2015

When I first started reading When Fates Collide (book 1), I had no idea the roller coaster I would be taking over three books. I have to admit that I don’t think I’ve ever come across a set of characters with whom I have been so emotionally involved. I have to apologize now – even though this is a review for When Fates Align, it is impossible to do the book justice without considering the other books in the series.
When Fates Align is the third book in the When Fates Collide series and picks up exactly where the second book (When Fate Isn’t Enough) left off. Each book in the series has a unique “emotional” feel for me and that continues to be true in this book. The emotional relationship between Gavin and Lily is smoother and for the first time in the series, I like Lily as much as I do Gavin.
The drama and challenges in this book lean more to the external forces and it was rewarding to see Lily’s character grow and mature as she and Gavin worked together. Secondary characters play a large role in the series and we continue to get to know them, but they add flavor without over shadowing our heroes. Part of me would love to know more about some of the supporting cast, there is wonderful potential for future books with many of them.
Ms. Richards has a writing style that is a little different than I have encountered in the past and she has created a world that pulls you in and makes you want to stay awhile. For a reader that is new to her work, please don’t start with When Fates Align. It is a wonderful work all by itself and could work as a stand-alone novel, but really should be read in order of the series to get the full impact.
*I received an advanced copy of this work. I was not compensated for the review, the opinion is my own.**
5.0 out of 5 stars I NEED more!! 1 September 2015

Absolutely Amazing!! I was a little ..okay a LOT sad that it ended where it did but that's because I feel so invested into Gavin & Lily's lives that I need more. Be that as it may, I LOVED this entire series even if I did want to choke Lily, Gavin & even Isabelle at times. Isabelle please for the love of all that is good & evil, don't let this series end there. I am such a huge fan of yours after this series I might just fangirl on ya if I ever get to meet you. <3 <3
