~this review may contain minor spoilers~

Seeing her beat Candy's a$$ like the club brat she is was also the most becoming thing I have ever seen, and it left my d*** rock hard. I'm tired of playing these games with her. It's time to find out where the Duck this is going; whatever the Duck this is.

~Dani's world get's flipped on it's end when her mother sneaks her off in the middle of the night and whisks her off to California; to meet the father she never knew, the father who never even knew she existed...Bull~President of the Devil's Dust MC. As a lifetime of secrets are revealed, and Dani's life is in danger, she takes shelter with her father and his band of Leather-Clad Outlaws. Spending time getting to know her father shows Dani a side of herself she never realized was buried beneath the surface, seems she has more in common with the man than she could have guessed. And then she meets him...the first man to ever truly make her feel alive, the man every one warns her to stay away from, the man clearly hiding some deep, dark secrets of his own...

~Shadow grew up surrounded by drugs, booze, whores, and neglect. Trust is something he rarely gives out, making relationships impossible; sex is all he wants from women ~get in, get off, get out~ and he's perfectly fine with that. The only family he knows are the MC and he would die for them...has killed for them, without hesitation. In fact, killing is something he does so well he has made a career of sorts out of it-makes a damn good buck doing it too. He knows he is harboring a very heavy dark side, that is just something he has learned to live with, it doesn't really affect his life anymore.

ARGH!!! My emotions are running wild! That was a crazy, intense totally EPIC ending to an amazing story. Let me just say straight away, if you have not one-clicked this baby DO IT NOW. I LOVED THIS BOOK!

Sex. Blood. Betrayal.
What Doesn't Destroy Us had it all. It was a gritty, dirty, smokin' hot biker book that you do not want to miss out on. Dani and Shadow were doomed from the beginning. Will they find happiness together? Will family ties break them apart?

Oh Dani, I really loved this girl. You can't help but feel her and all she has been put through. Her actions are admirable, her courage and strength is commendable. Dani finds more than she expected when she makes herself comfortable within her new living arrangements. She finds her home, her family and the love of a broody sex on a stick man. This man being none other than the Sargent-At-Arms of the Devil's Dust MC, Shadow. It took me awhile to warm to Shadow. He is a little mean, so you've been warned people! I do however understand why Shadow is the way he is, the author made sure of that when filling us in on his background. Shadow's past is dark and very unpleasant, because of the horrible things that have happened to him and around him, he now finds it very difficult to trust people and let anyone in past the walls he has built up high around him. Shadow and Dani's story is full of up's down's but the one consistency is the HOT SEX. The raunchy scenes between these two are off the charts hot. They are steamy and very sexy! If you love a good mc romance with angst and a bit of mystery than What Doesn't Destroy Us is definitely a must read. I was super impressed with the quality of writing in this book, I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

M.N Forgy, I need book two like yesterday!!

I'd like to see these types of novels get away from the almost psychotic level of possessiveness that women are apparently supposed to find appealing. I see that a lot - though this one really doesn't hold any punches in that regard. I thought this novel jumped into the Dani/Shadow relationship way too quickly. There was very little build-up. I also didn't find the club rules romantic - not sure if they were meant to be. 'A woman is a club members possession until he decides otherwise.' Perhaps this is based on actual club behaviour, I don't know, but if women readers are meant to be into that idea then that's a bit worrying. There were some nice moments between Shadow and Dani but overall, none of the characters really did it for me and the end of the book was predictably dramatic. Quality-wise, I found a couple of spelling errors so it could do with another edit. It's an easy read and has some decent moments, but I think I'll stop at book #1.
