I bought this because author Heather Boyd writes some of the best HR ever, such as ‘Keepsake’ and the ‘Distinguished Rogues’. But ‘Wedding Affair’ feels like it is written by someone else. There is a plot that should be interesting but isn’t. In every chapter there are family members and their back stories, but there are so many it gets confusing. Worst of all the lead characters are just not that engaging.
Lady Sally had her heart broken six years ago by Captain Felix. Now that Sally is about to make a successful marriage, her plotting family drag Felix back into her life. Sounds like a good set up but it’s really hard to care about any of the characters. If I hadn’t read such great stuff from Heather Boyd I would be more forgiving. Maybe. This book is just lacking life and I have no interest in the rest of the series.
