I'm a fan of stories that make us think, and this book does that in spades. While it wends its way into pretty bleak evaluations of where we are and how we arrived here, it then turns to stories that inspire. AND challenge us to take steps to regain some control, and ESPECIALLY meaning in our lives.
While the author acknowledges that this is not an academic or research article, he has been deeply embedded in many areas of the web as it evolved. And has drawn in salient stories of others who have travelled a related path. For me, the lack of academic rigour is more than offset by the engaging stories of fellow humans who have grappled with big questions.
Come aboard and read. But then ALSO take the time to discuss this in REAL conversations and build REAL connections with others.
