Vi Keeland is just an extraordinary writer. I am yet to read her work and not be moved, smile, tear up or swoon... this read is definitely on the comedic, swoon side... ‘WE SHOULDN'T' Is a full length, standalone, sexy enemies-to-lovers office romance novel written in dual POVs so we get to know both characters well...
Our hero and heroine are essentially competing for the same job as their advertising companies are merging. Bennett is a sexy, arrogant ladies man, who doesn’t believe in relationships while Annalise is beautiful and sweet stunner who’s nursing a broken heart after being dumped on Valentine’s day.
You couldn't help but not like Anna in all her quirkiness and when these two meet the sparks start flying instantly... even though they loathe each other... “I'd let myself start to think that beneath the arrogant Beast was some sort of misunderstood Prince Charming. Sometimes a beast is just a beast, no matter how many layers you peel back.”
What started out as a challenging competition between the two as they battled it out for the job became a relationship neither saw coming, as let’s face it there is a fine line between love and hate and in this case it explodes... “I haven’t been able to focus on anything since the day you walked into the office,” he said. “You’ve starred in all my fantasies, even when I tried to hate you.”
So while Bennett wasn't a Hero that I found easy to love in the beginning once he shows his vulnerability, the book became nearly impossible to put down. Great fun all round... 4.5 Stars
I've loved Vi's writing for awhile now and when I saw this title I just knew if was going to be good. I really enjoyed the verbal foreplay between Annalise and Bennett and how Bennett always seemed to make Annalise forgive him when I'm sure she wanted to strangle him!! I always love a strong female lead and Annalise was a perfect example of this. Lots of fire and great chemistry and the story kept flowing well. 5 stars Loved the cartoon doodle at the end too - the exaggerated boobies were so Bennett
I loved this stand alone book. It had everything fun, love and a few tears along the way. Annalise and Bennett both work for competing ad agencies which combine into one leaving them both competing to see who keeps their job in San Francisco and who gets sent to the agency in Texas. Therefore the war is on between these two to see who stays as they both have their reasons for staying in San Francisco. There’s a lot of fun banter between the two as they both compete for the end goal. Bennett due to a tragic past doesn’t do relationships so can Annalise change that and find the real man underneath that exterior he puts on. You won’t be disappointed with this book, once I started it was hard to put down. I hope we get more from these two again one day.
Well, Vi Keeland did it again. Another hot steamy read. I loved this from start to finish and just could not put it down.
“ There May be a fine line between love and hate... But straddling that line can be so much fun”
So very true for these two characters. Bennett Fox and Annalise O’Neil’s first Meeting had me laughing out loud with what he had witnessed just minutes before coming into work. Both of their respective ad agencies were merging together and they both held the same job title of creative directors, you can see where this is going right.... and you would be correct ! Which one kept the job at San Fransisco and which one would be shipped off to work a thousand miles away in Texas . Let the competitive games begin! ( they both did NOT want to go to Texas) The pages kept turning and I kept sliding more to the edge of my seat in anticipation. It was a wild, hilarious ride and I loved every word written.
Right from the get go I saw massive sexual chemistry, competitive natures clashing , sexy witty banter, and a whole lot more which was so much fun to read but I also loved as time went on and feelings were bared , all the hard and tragic topics that came to light we just as important as all the other factors. I loved how Annalise is the only person who could see past Bennett’s bad boy , emotionally unavailable self to see what beautiful gems lay hidden underneath. The Author had the perfect blend of all the emotions that were seen throughout this story. The writing was sublime and I also loved the secondary characters Madison and Lucas too.
“That’s the thing about love. We didn’t fall in love with the perfect person; we fall in love despite a person’s imperfections.
You can always be sure whenever you read a Vi Keeland book that you are going to get get way more than your money’s worth. Congratulations on another perfect read , it definitely deserves 5 stars.
If you are looking for a book that will make you snort, hope that the douchebag comes good and plenty of emotion through out, look no further than is one. Within the first chapter I knew I was going to lose some sleep because I didn’t want to put it down. And I’m happy to feel sluggish today and still have a big smile on my face.
Bennett Fox is a jerk. He knows it, his assistant knows it and Annalise O’Neill is about to find out too. With the merger of their two companies, each will now battle it out to keep their job, and the other will be shipped off to Texas. But Bennett didn’t see Annalise coming, at all. She is the type of woman that brings out the best in all people, especially the Beast, according to Madison’s theory. Lucky for him, Annalise understands you don’t fall in love with a perfect person, but you love them despite their imperfections.
This novel had me feeling mostly happy and very touched by Bennett’s background. There is plenty of banter between these two and they find the ideal balance of work and play. The epilogue was fitting, and it just goes to show you that Bennett was a big softie at heart.
We Shouldn’t is the must read new standalone by Vi Keeland. Bennett Fox and Annalise O’Neil meet when their ad agencies merge. They become rivals, forced to work together and compete for the same job. However, this meeting isn’t the first time that they’ve met or that Bennett has laid eyes on Annalise. Under different circumstances these two would be all over each other. But what develops is a complicated rivalry and a hot-and-cold relationship. They have a ton of chemistry and they’re both losing their minds just a bit. Bennett likes his life without unnecessary complicactions and to him, most women are complicated...
