This book had me in tears. Rory finally understand why Houston ended their relationship. Not being able to cope with all the lies and betrayal by people who are supposed to love her, she runs away and gets caught up in something that ends up being totally wrong for her. I did not get a good vibe from Liam's character from the start, as I just wanted Houston to be her one and only. I also fell a little more for Rory and Houston. Tragedy seems to touch them at every turn, and it seems they will never get their HEA. Another fabulous, nail biting instalment of a great series.

The second installment in the series is no less gripping than the first. My favorite scene is when Houston finds an unlikely ally to get Rory back. This gets better and better. It seems that the universe has been conspiring against Rory. Just makes me want to jump into the last installment for the conclusion of her story. Loving this series!

OMG! The Way We Break was freakin amazeballs, it was such a good follow up to The Way We Fall. You get a bit more back story of each of the characters and you fall in love with each of them a little more. I still love the character of Hallie and her poor tortured soul. Rory is just as beautiful, Houston is just as swoon worthy and Liam, well let's just say he disappointed me in this one.
I cannot wait for book three

Another book by Cassia I fell in love with. Her characters are always so real. I love that they have more than one dimension. She manages to tackle some big topics with such grace.
The journey is amazing as we continue on with Houston, Rory, Kenny, and Liam. Parts will leave you angry or laughing. Sometimes everything is not as it appears on the surface. Often we need to take big risks, like moving 600 miles to achieve our goals. Moving in with someone we hardly know. Sometimes we are surprised where the help is actually comes from when we learn the truth.
Can't wait to see how their story ends in The Way We Rise

3.0 out of 5 stars Blah! 31 May 2015

I really tried to like this book, I loved the drama on book one. But this is just the same story about girl who is so deeply in love or obsessed with first love that after 5 years of their break up she still has feeling for him, she doesn't date she just passes in life with her heart broken and still full of love for her ex. Than finally she gives someone a chance and for what? So she can still be obsessed with her ex and compare both of them. An ex that only thinks about himself. Why because he wanted his vengeance after his loss of his sister and he went for it. They loss their baby and he leaves her without a blink of an eye because HE thinks is for the best. I'm not criticizing the writing just that the story wasn't for me. I know books are fantasy but are they girls like this in real life?? They let their life's pass because they are in love with their exes. They are lonely while the exes are married happy or not. What would of happen if they didn't happen to bump into each other? Would he still be married to his crazy wife? Would she still be a lonely single sprung on her ex? This wasn't for me, but maybe others would like it.

If you read the first part, "The way we fall", you're going to want to read the second part even the reviews say it wasn't as good as the first book. The thing is, there is a third book that finishes the story so if you're not that committed to the story after the first part, I wouldn't recommend continuing, as this second book just drags on without developing much of the relationship except creating (at least in me) a dislike for Rory, which I didn't feel in the first book , as she handles things in a childish immature way.
(Spoilers ahead.) I disliked the way this book turns Liam into a psycho when in the first book, he was a nice mature person who was understanding of the situation between Houston and Rory. I wonder why the author chose to make both exes (Tessa and Liam) mentally unstable. One mentally unstable character in a story suffices, in my opinion. It sounds like the author is scrambling for a way to justify Rory dumping Liam for Houston, but the reality is that Rory shouldn't have jumped into a relationship with Liam while still in love with Houston no matter how confused or messed up she felt. She made a mistake and the author could have handled that mistake better by having Rory open up to Liam and tell him she was still in love with her ex, but no, instead we have to read about how a perfectly nice character suddenly turns into a violent unstable man. Not cool!
In any case, I will read the third part just to know how things end, though I'm not satisfied with how the author has continued the story so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true story of love, passion and forgiveness 29 May 2015
By AndreaJ - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
When I saw book 2 in The Story of Us series was being released I was beyond thrilled. I absolutely fell in love with Rory & Houston in book 1 and needed more of their story. I needed to know what happened with the fallout from Hallie’s letter. I needed to know what happened with that nutjob of an ex-wife (soon to be anyway). I needed to know if Rory forgave Houston. I needed to know what happened to that hunky Liam. So many needs. As always, Cassia Leo delivered in a major way.

One of the things I love about these characters is how very relatable they are. I understand Rory’s feelings of betrayal and conflict within herself. Her love of Houston is almost all consuming. Rory has loved Houston most of her life and the idea that he could truly love her back that it all means what she needs it to mean is too much for her. The ability to let go and trust him, the ability to allow herself the connection she has with him – all too much. So in true Rory fashion, she escapes.

Houston is an idiot. Plain and simple. He is amazing and has so much potential but he’s kind of a martyr. I wanted to go through my Kindle and shake sense into him. I wanted to tell him he deserves Rory’s love, that it matters, that he has every right to be happy. I wanted to tell him to kick that Tessa to the curb and never look back. But that’s not Houston. No he’s a good guy and he’s convinced himself he must fix everything. He feels the need to tie up all the loose ends.

With distance between them, not just in miles but in communication and trust, Rory and Houston have to almost move mountains to find their way back to one another. The best part of the distance is seeing both Rory and Houston grow individually in a way that allows them to back together. Once they are each whole and find their way back to one another, there is no doubt that they than can overcome all the other obstacles thrown their way.

A true story of love, passion and forgiveness, The Way We Break is instantly a top read for 2015.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cassia DOES IT AGAIN! 6 out of 5 stars!!! All hail Cassia, the Queen Manipulator of my emotions! 29 May 2015

“Code Blue. Code Blue. First Floor. Room I-1-5-3.
Repeat. Code Blue. First Floor. Room I-1-5-3.”

Is that an actual quote from the book?

Dying to know? (Pun intended!)

Lol. Sorry folks, but I’m not going to spoil the fun ;) All I can say is prepare for Cassia Leo’s signature emotional roller coaster ride! She knocked it out of the park again and scores yet another 6 out of 5 stars home run with The Way We Break (Book #2 of The Story of Us series)!!!

If you thought the shocking revelation at the end of The Way We Fall takes the cake, let me tell you that it’s only icing on the cake! I was on the edge of my seat, gripping my Kindle as if my life depended on it, reading as fast as I could with my heart in my mouth because…

- Character X is too good to be true… alas, my heart is broken!
- Character Y is surprisingly resourceful and just like that, I’ve switched teams!
- Character Z is a force to be reckoned with! Z is a new favorite for me!

There’s so much more to each character that it will BLOW. YOUR. MIND.!

Cassia is the Queen Manipulator of my emotions. She had me sobbing uncontrollably one moment and in stitches the next! This book was filled with hilarity AND STEAM! Oh là là!

"Do we really need bananas?"

"Yes! Everyone knows you can't have a creamy surprise without bananas."

*wiggles eyebrows*

Needless to say, my level of excitement for each installment of the trilogy grows more with the next! With bated breath, I’ll be counting down the days till the release of the final book, The Way We Rise!!!

With that, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from the book ♥

“Saying good-bye to the things that cause you pain sometimes means saying good-bye to the things and the people—the addictions—who once brought you pleasure.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it! 29 May 2015

I fell in love with Rory story with the first book in the three book series "The Way We Fall" and my love has only grown from there. The love story of Houston and Rory is a long and complicated one with many cliffs and winding roads. Will their story ever finish with happiness or will Rory ride off into the sunset with the handsome and sweet "Lumberjack" Liam?

I started this book thinking I knew all the secrets between this complicated bunch of characters and once again Cassia has blown my mind with more twisty angst. Cassia has a way of making you love the characters that make up her amazing stories. Who doesn't want a gay bestie like Kenny or beautifully broken and flawed men chasing after your heart?!?! Hold on to your hats folks this ride is a real roller-coaster!!

I leave you with one of my favorite quotes in the book. I love this because it really speaks to the heart of any relationship. Truth is the key!

"We don't need more distance between us, Rory. We need truth".
