After months of trying to contact Marco, Harper Williams finally admits she’ll be raising her child alone, since he won’t return her calls.
When Harper is violently attacked, the two are, reluctantly, thrown together again and become embroiled in a web of lies and deceit. Will they lose their baby, each other, and their lives?

Seriously, there's not a lot I can say about the book without giving away plot spoilers, it's Marco's story and it's hot and emotional.
The book is aimed at an adult audience, there are numerous sex scenes, some menage, all with a BDSM theme. As a previously military outfit you can also expect swearing, like, lots!.
I've loved Marco throughout the series but we get to see him in all of his moods and not just the caring and loving Dom in other books.
The storyline is straightforward, and I did get a bit exasperated when they couldn't see who the baddie is, especially given the wealth of experience they have in hunting baddies for a living. Maybe I'm too cynical.
There are a few proof reading errors that really should have been picked up, but they didn't detract from the storyline.

it was amazing
Read from May 10 to 11, 2016
Plenty of suspense in this story starting from the first page, a few surprises a long the way as well. Marco always comes across as the most compassionate of the Trident Dom's, it's great to finally get his story even though we have had a few snippets in the past. We know he lost his sister to cancer and he took it hard, here we find out a bit more about his early life with her. Harper as well she was his sisters best friend and went through the cancer battle with them both. A bit of time has past with Marco not having heard from Harper since the funeral, a phone call changes everything. WE get some violence and bombs, the new team is in play as well getting in on the action as well as protection detail. Tension, love and some sweetness make this book a bit special there is also a hot scene that gets played out. Great reading as always from Samantha, I cant believe this is book five already. I'm hoping there is still lots more to come because I love this series and all the characters in it.
And along with the renewed relationship that developed between Harper and Marco. There was a really well balanced suspense element. Which kept me guessing for at least 60% of the book, and had an ending that left my heart pounding. Which is always a good thing, and I can't wait to read more from this series in the future. And I'd happily recommend Watching From The Shadows to others.
