5 Stars! "I loved this series the first time around. I have them in paperback. But when I found out the updated version were available in e-books at such great prices, I jumped on it. Honestly it has been so long since I've read it, though, without consulting the original I couldn't really tell what had been added or updated, it went so seamlessly together." - Vangard
5 Stars! "Love this book. Very funny can't get enough of this book." - Sonnytillie

Pia joins the Galaxy Brides to disappear. Pia trained as an assassin. In an act of betrayal, Pia was burned and badly scarred. Her disfigurement made her easily identifiable. So when she killed the mayor's son when he tried to rape her, Pia became a hunted woman. In exchange for corrective surgery (that in fact restored her face to its original beauty), Pia contracted to marry whomsoever the Galaxy Brides presented. Her social isolation due to her former grotesque appearance was so ingrained that Pia couldn't believe any one could desire her, especially not the huge, handsome and sensual Draig warrior who claimed her as a wife. Explicit sexual content. Lots of action and great fun.
Prince Zoran is the captain of the Draig guards and one of the 4 princes looking for a bride thru Galaxy Brides.
Pia, a trained assassin physically scarred from a childhood act of betrayal, is running from a possible execution. In exchange for being given a new face she joins the Galaxy Brides.
I enjoyed this book. The characters are fresh and exciting even though the books all take place at the same time and place the stories are each unique. The books are very well written and a must read for all paranormal readers.
I highly recommend this series. It's a really good read.

On arrival on the bride ship, Pia undergoes a series of procedures before meeting the stranger she'll marry. Zoran, her match like the other men doesn't tell her who he is and only gives orders. As neither of them will give in and talk with their wives about the difficulties that they are now caught up in. With several near accidents before all is revealed and all ends well.
Pia is grotesque, she is disfigured by an accident years ago so she becomes a fighter to survive. Pia runs into some trouble and knows that she is easily recognized, she decides to see if Galaxy Brides can change her face and get her to another planet as some man's bride.
Zoran is the dragon prince who is in charge of the military and he is a perfect match for Pia's fighting spirit.
I loved Pia, she is so unsure of herself, almost everyone who sees her believes she is one of the most beautiful women they have ever seen, but she doesn't see that woman when she looks in the mirror. Pia is constantly confusing Zoran, he sees the beautiful woman she is and doesn't understand why she believes he is tormenting her when he talks about her beauty.
It was great fun to read Pia and Zoran's love story, neither one really know what to say or how to handle the other person. Their story is a little different than the other couples, Pia wants to be with Zoran, but doesn't know how to express it and doesn't believe that the most handsome of the Draig princes would want to be with her.
There are some hot and juicy love scenes in this book, which I really enjoyed. This book and the Dragon Lords series are highly recommended as well as the newest series set in the Dragon Lords universe before the Dragon Lords are using Galaxy Brides.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review
The four books in the series was a different way to tell their stories. Each Biko told the same story from each bride’s perspective. A fun and interesting way to tell a story.
I was quite happy to see that Michelle Pillow can write this genre and write it well.
This turned out to be my favorite of the first four I read. Prince Zoran and Pia are well written and I felt an immediate affinity with Pia. Despite the Galaxy Brides "fixing" her scars and damaged face/body, Pia still sees herself as ugly and disfigured no matter what the reflective image shows her. So much so that every time Zoran says she's beautiful, anger flairs. He soon realizes that simply telling her will not do.
Worth noting is that Ms. Pillow's timeline for the first several books in this series is to have them runs simultaneously so while understandable and void of any confusion, the reader receives moments of deja vu in the series as some re-telling from previous stories is intermingled in the current one. But it doesn't necessarily take away from the overall enjoyment of the book.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy romance (dragons) with a touch of science fiction thrown in.
Honestly it has been so long since I've read it, though, without consulting the original I couldn't really tell what had been added or updated, it went so seamlessly together. But I appreciate the hard work and effort it took. I haven't read the others yet. Usually I like to read a series from the start, but Pia and Zoran's story has always held a fascination for me. Or maybe empathy because Pia is used to people dismissing her because of her scars and that Zoran recognized the beautiful person she is inside.
If you are new to this author, you will absolutely LOVE this series. It is hot and sensuous without being gratuitous. Funny and loving. And I suggest that you start with the first book, the Barbarian Prince, so you can follow along. I can't wait to read the Queen/Mom's story. The beginning pages tells me the boys take after their mother.
While Pia struggles to accept her new image and her new spouse, thinking Zoran mocks her when he compliments her beauty and states his attraction for her. Zoran struggles to keep his own feelings of attraction and ownership under wraps, all the while wanting to claim her.
It is hard not to love this tale of redemption and love, not to forget hot and steamy sex! A really good read!
