This author pulled me in from the start, and my heart ached for both the H/h. This is a reversed beauty and the beast with our h being disfigured as a young child. The pain other's inflected on her with their looks of horror I could feel her pain with how the author wrote.
Our H is handsome, but is treated no better than a slave. How there romance grow warmed by big polish heart!! There is lovemaking mildly descriptive and full of passion because I cared and like both the H/h.
We do get suspense, plot twists, intrigue, secrets that I thought I'd figured out and BAM was I wrong, which made for interesting reading.
No cliffhanger for our couple but you are left wondering what happened to our H sister, which the next book is about her and I am reading it next (already released).
We get HEA, but OH MY the road has so many twists, I wasn't sure if they would make it. We get a small epilogue that was sweet.
Yes, I do recommend this story and especially this author!! I am not going into the story line, as many other's have done a better job than I. But, I hope in explaining the above, you will get a feel for what you are in for. (ljb)
I really liked Taryn and Killian, as individual characters and as a couple. Two lonely people with more issues than your local magazine stand. Lol But seriously, what they've gone through and went through makes you feel sad and angry. I'm so glad they overcame them.
This book made me laugh and cry. I cried. I did. Plus, there's a twist that I really didn't see coming. It never even crossed my mind. Nowadays in a lot of books, you can see the twist coming. For me, in this book, I did not.
Just one thing that bothered me, but didn't take away from my rating was that there was maybe a little too much of he thinks she wouldn't/doesn't want me for such and such reason, or she thinks he wouldn't/doesn't want me for this or that reason.
It is about two people who feel they aren't good enough for the other (whether because of physical appearance, social or financial status, etc), and don't get me wrong, I don't mind those books at all. For the most part, I love them because the hero or heroine does come to realize that they are good enough despite their circumstances. It just took longer than usual for them to see that. But that's okay, because they do overcome it, and it's such a great romance. Loved it!
