I hate elves, especially of the space variety. They are always condescending, skinny, manipulative pointy eared jerks.
They are also badass in their own vaguely androgynous way. The Eldar army is very fast, able to run circles around almost any army, save their evil cousins. Their tanks are all fast skimmers, though they pay for this by not being as durable, or hard hitting as IG tanks, point for point. Their troops are generally mediocre, and their HQs are hit or miss.
The heart of the army is really in the Aspect Warriors, all specialized forces that almost always badly suck outside of their intended purpose. This can make Eldar hard to play, as if the enemy army is a total unknown, you can run into serious trouble with some bad picks or if you use them improperly, or you can watch your 200 point Howling Banshee squad destroy 500 pts of Space Marines and a hero in a single assault.
So, they are not for beginners. Their models are pretty cool, but also, not for beginners.
