Bill Byson is a pretty funny guy, but what I didn't enjoy about this book , was the boring tangents he would go off on in supplying information about the history of the trail or the trees. I would find myself quickly glossing over those areas in the book to actually get back to him and his friend walking the trail.
I would like to read more of his books but seriously don't want a history lesson, so I am unsure weather I will touch about her one of his books, which is a pity, because he is quite funny and good when he is actually telling his story.
