Product Description

He lived next door.

Alison Eckrich was an expert at being invisible. Having been raised by a mother who saw only flaws, she had learned long ago to watch and never participate. Until him. He was gorgeous from what little she could make out through his bathroom window and he awakened things inside her she had always been told was wrong. But she didn’t care.

She was addicted.

Gabriel Madoc was no stranger to the cold sting of betrayal. His broken heart had left him hard and bitter and that was how he liked it. Until her. She was a vision in the soft twilight. Everything about her called to him. It didn’t even matter he couldn’t see her face.

He wanted her.

The rules were simple: No names. No faces. No attachments. They both had what the other needed so long as they never broke the rules. But what will happen when the mystery is unveiled and they both come face to face with the truth and each other? Is what they shared in the cloak of darkness enough to keep them together, or will reality tear them apart?

Reviewing on behalf of Relentless book chics ramblings and reviews

I loved this story although it wasn’t what I expected it to be from the title. I guess that’s because I have a stereotypical view of what a Voyeur is but after reading this, I’ve learnt that to a degree, I’m a Voyeur too!

Alison is a quirky character and pretty much keeps to herself. Having been brought up by a mother who wasn’t the best role model, in fact, at times she was cruel, she prefers to watch people rather than participate in life. She spends her evenings watching her neighbours in the flats opposite which is so much more entertaining than any soap on TV.

Life starts to look up when she meets a loveable old man called Earl who offers her a job. Unfortunately, she has to work alongside his moody grandson, Gabriel Madoc. My favourite Earl line was “Your stick doesn’t magically get waxed on its own and eventually, you’ll give yourself blisters”.

Gabriel had a bad experience with a woman in his past and since then, he keeps away from women as much as possible. To say Ali and Gabe don’t get along is an understatement, they hate each other! Or do they?

As their relationship develops, there are some hilarious one liners from Ali including “Will your penis convert to a vagina if a woman holds the door open for you?” so I lost count of the number of times I laughed while reading it, I could have highlighted half the book!

The next twist in the tale is when Ali is watching her new neighbour and accidentally catches him pleasuring himself in the bathroom after a shower. He sends her a note which he tosses onto her terrace and that’s when we meet Q. Q only has 3 rules, no names, no faces and no attachments.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! It’s a rare thing to find a book (in my eyes) that is perfectly written - can I get an amen! **amen!** Praise the writing God’s for a book that has swept me off my feet.
I loved it so much that when I finished it, I raced over and gifted a copy to my book friend because I wanted to share the love. And now I have the hard task of writing a review that is worthy to sum up this book. I’ve always said ‘how can you sum up a book for a review in two paragraphs’ – but honestly – this book is SO SO SO SO good. If I left my review there, I’m not doing it justice.
This book was not what I thought it would be and it swept me away so much that I read it in one sitting. I have mounds of washing sitting here because of you Airicka (hope you are able to live with yourself ). If you have been reading and seeing my reviews – I don’t give out five stars very often but this book is a solid six in my eyes.
Now, enough gushing. Why is this book a six to me? The characters, the storyline, the underlying tones and themes are just put together beautifully like a symphony. There is the perfect balance of tension, drama, lust and blossoming love. The pacing and the story are perfectly timed. I would be hard pressed to find a section that I would say ‘meh – that wasn’t really necessary’. Everything meshes together. There are many laugh out loud moments, several moments when I think I heard my own heart crack and plenty of hot flashes (not just from the characters!).
Ali is instantly likeable. She’s got her struggles and is completely relatable. It’s not till I got further into the story that I wanted to give her a huge hug and say ‘I understand’. As the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that she’s a broken girl.

One good deed deserves another, which is how this story starts, with Earl giving Ali a job. Gabriel/Jack works at the auto repair shop his grandfather owns, which is where Ali now works. It's one of those love/hate relationships with a lot of witty banter. It also happens that become neighbours of sorts leading also to an anonymous voyeuristic relationship. Now that's the good part. Of course there's more to it.
Both touched by things in the past & felt for poor Ali. This is a good story & I like it more because the characters are normal, not people we would never be. It's also a bit different as well. I just felt good afterwards.

Couldn't get past the first chapter - not what I imagined from the precis. Main character really annoying and so is the supposed male lead. Sorry.
