Product Description

Adair Godwin is noble heiress caught amidst war-torn England in 1066 AD. Her home, Stanwood Manor, is besieged by raiding Normans and claimed by their leader under the authority of the Duke of Normandy.  Reduced to the level of slave, Adaira is forced to overcome new horrors, including the unhallowed magnetic charm of her new lord. Can she escape the traitorous attraction for her enemy by seeking the vows of the veil?  Or will her body's unholy weakness, find her sharing his bed?

Renouf de Sinclaire is a Norman battle-hardened warrior sent to claim and rule the lands left defenseless after the Battle of Hastings. Vowing never to marry, little does he know that he has met his match in the contentious beauty who challenges his right to her home and lands. Must he break her spirit to bring her to complete submission? Or will his own heart be his undoing, allowing her to conquer him instead?

Sensitive, endearing and wonderful.
Written in an era of plunder and mayhem, never the less, two people discover each other and passions soars.
Not an easy book to lay aside for the next day, it holds you captive until the end.. Breathless.

Leigh Lee's book made me angry sometimes over how the characters acted and reacted, however I see this as a plus as I really became engrossed into their lives. Great work!

5.0 out of 5 stars norman invader romance at its best 9 August 2015

Adaira Godwin isa outspoken , stubborn ,slightly spoiled , but beautiful noble woman whom is about to get a reality check by a handsome Norman warrior. Renouf de Sinclaire is King Williams most trusted and valued Chevalier and has tooken over Adaira keep. As Adaira keeps her tongue sharp she learns the importance of needing to curb her outspoken ways . As she fantasizes about her missing betrothed she learn of what love is by her daydreams being interrupted by her Norman invader.

I had enjoyed Adaira's outspoken ways sometime she was just a little bit over the edge or to whinny but overall i enjoyed her verbal spars with Renouf. Renouf i felt was just a wee bit over possessive but i loved i his quick wit and comebacks . i highly enjoyed this novel and cant wait to see next by this author.

This story held me spellbound throughout. A fresh plotline much needed in this genera. The entangled feelings of both hero and heroine were I entrench with the plot in a way that was not overplayed. While I e joy streamer exchanges between the characters at least the author gave the impression there were strong feelings involved.
4.0 out of 5 stars Lee did a great job of keeping me inside the world she created 13 June 2015

Medieval Romance is not a subgenre I often seek out, but this author has an engaging voice, and I got a kick out of the dialogue—the hero’s, in particular. I understand more than a year of research went into this novel, and though I’m not well-versed in medieval history, Ms. Lee did a great job of keeping me inside the world she created.

The chemistry between the two main characters is well drawn, though the heroine frustrated me at times with her immature decisions. This is not a complaint! The heroine is a very sheltered and, therefore, relatively immature eighteen-year-old, so her choices and actions were completely true to character. I read and squirmed as the ramifications of the heroine’s behavior played out, all the while wishing I could pull her aside and have a strong chat, give her some motherly advice—and when a book has you itching to have a sit-down with the heroine, it’s done its job. Ms. Lee stayed true to her characters, and because of her consistency and deft writing, it worked. This is an engaging, entertaining read.

I loved this book! It is fast paced, but not too fast, where it doesn't feel rushed. It's perfect. The author doesn't repeat things or explain things in detail to make it boring. Lots of books are that way, I personally think to get more word count, sometimes! The story is great and very romantic, without getting to grafic. I like that! I highly recommend it and can't wait for more!
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, simply awesome! 2 April 2016

This book was so engaging, I really enjoyed this story and the characters so much! I loved the way Adaira and Renouf bantered back and forth. Both very strong willed. All of the characters were so well developed and the plot was so amazing. Adaira was so loyal to her family, so headstrong and so set on hating Renouf, good thing he was confident enough to handle Adaira. This truly was an excellent read and the author did not take short cuts with the characters or story line. This story did have some serious sexual tension, but I do wish there had been at least one or two great love scenes... I didn't want this story to end. Awesome, simply awesome!
