New Adult Contemporary Romance

You can say I had it all. The fancy house, top of the line car, lots of friends and more money than anyone could ever imagine. On the outside, we were the perfect family. No one knew about my abusive father and my mother who drank herself into oblivion every night. My name is Karly and I have scars, deep scars that no one knows about, and when my parents died I was left alone and on my own, to fight through life with no help.

When it came to life and happiness, I had it all until my world was turned upside down. My name is Nicholas and my wife, the love of my life, left me and our new baby girl without as much as an explanation. I didn’t want to accept it, but after our divorce was final and four long years passed, I started to lose hope that she’d ever come back. Emma was growing so fast and I needed help. My sister recommended that I hire her friend, Karly, as Emma’s nanny. I took a chance on bringing another woman into my little girl’s life. Did I do the right thing?

As many days and nights are spent together, feelings can no longer be denied and a relationship is formed.

Life is about taking chances and learning how to fall, but when the past comes back, will they be strong enough to fight through and trust each other? Or will all they worked for fall apart?

I kind of had mixed feelings for this story. Let's just say that OMG Nicholas annoyed me I didn't like him am that much whereas Karly on the other hand was a little to weak of a character for me. I love her chemistry with Neil but sad at the same time. Even though the Nicholas and Karly weren't to mine liking I still managed to enjoy the story and then wonder at WTF is wrong with Nicholas seriously annoyance. I felt the story is worth 2.5 STARS.

5.0 out of 5 stars How much heartache can one person really endure? 19 May 2015

This book starts off with the background about Karly: she has an abusive, alcoholic, drug addicted father. Her parents were going bankrupt and Karly was their miracle child. Her mother ends up shooting her father and then killing herself ultimately leaving Karly by herself. She leaves Boston and goes off to college at UNC - Chapell Hill and graduates Summa Cum Laude with a teaching degree.

Nicholas: single father of an awesome 4 year old girl, Emma, whose first wife left him shortly after Emma was born and took off for California to restart her modeling career.

There are so many different aspects to this story to keep straight but all the supporting characters really bring out this storyline.
Alexis: Nicholas's sister and Karly's best friend
Larry: Nicholas's best friend and Alexis's boyfriend
Neil: Karly's ex-boyfriend but still best friend
Jamie: Nicholas's ex-wife and Emma's mom
Bradley: Karly's ex-boyfriend from high school

There is an instant connection between Karly and Nicholas. Karly ends up moving in with Nicholas and becoming Emma's nanny. Emma needs a mother figure and Karly fills that role and then some. Karly has numerous tragedies she has to deal with between Bradley coming back into her life, the turmoil with Neil and how is she going to navigate this new relationship with Nicholas.

But Jamie comes back and throws a wrench into the mix and Nicholas has to make a choice: his relationship and love of Karly or the what is best for his daughter Emma. His choice crushes Karly and ultimately leaves everyone else confused.

After that ending I immediately went on to buy the next book because I had to know what happened.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another WINNER for S. Moose! 19 April 2014

Sometimes it's when you aren't looking that you find what you've been needing all along.

The story is emotionally intense and allows you to connect well with the characters and their lives. It is full of emotion, tragedy - both past and present, acceptance and overcoming obstacles that defeat our being. But it is also full of friendships, love, forgiveness and second chances.

The attraction between Karly and Nicholas is explosive and will leave you eager for more. A relationship built out of tragedy and fate, friendship and chance. Two souls fighting to heal their wounds while it seems the universe is fighting against them.

The author showcases the personalities and emotions of the characters without being overly descriptive. First and secondary characters, ones you truly want in your inner circle of friends, play a huge role in the development of this story.

I smiled, I cried, I laughed and screamed. There were moments that made my heart swoon, and times where I wanted to slap the stubbornness from Nicholas's sexy face. Emma is darn cute! I love her. Karly, as fragile and scarred as she may seem, contains the strength to take on the world. She's realistic, flaws and fears included, and I like that. She's determined to overcome and soar.

I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel and much more from this author.
2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't like 2 June 2015

First off............this book ends in a major cliff hanger.........I wish I had read that in the reviews before I downloaded the book. The storyline is more slow sappy daytime soap opera than I like. The main heroine in the book cries and slaps too much to be believable. The other characters in the book with the exception of Nick and Emma are just minor undeveloped characters that frankly could have been interesting if the writer had just worked on them some. Instead we get to endure more graphic sex scenes that is supposed to hide the fact that the book is lacking a real storyline.
Then to top it all off.......big really bad cliffhanger ending. I made it a point long ago that if a book has to resort to a cliffhanger to get a reader to buy the second book then I refuse to do it. I have bought and downloaded several books in series in the past, each of those end completely and make me want to read the next book because I love the characters so much.....but some writers prefer the tired and useless cliffhanger to make you fork over a few bucks for the next installment. In the end I just can't recommend the least the first one was free hence the reason for the two stars instead of one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great chemistry, but story didn't add up 20 April 2014

This book was just an average read for me despite the hot chemistry between Karly and Nicholas, the main couple. I also liked reading the alternating POVs. However, the cliffhanger in the end was too abrupt. I couldn't believe Nicholas would do what he did to Karly after spending a majority of the book insisting his daughter's welfare came first above everyone and everything. I know the author wants to create a conflict, but there needs to be some kind of logic and believability for the reader to work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!! Is all I got to say after finishing this gem!! 15 April 2014

I read this book like a thirsty woman in the desert when she finds water, I couldn't get enough. The prologue had me in tears, but I love books that make me feel, that grab my attention and make me form a connection with the characters from the very beginning, and this is exactly what Vision of Love did. Karly is a young, funny, caring, positive, loving 21 year old, and she has gone through so much in her short life, that you can't help but love her positive attitude and ask how she goes on everyday after everything that has happened to her. Then we have Nicholas, sexy, gorgeous, damaged, beautiful 28 year old, single dad who is oh so swoony!! They meet and sparks fly from the moment their eyes lock. But, don't think for a minute everything was hearts and rainbows, oh no, they played the mouse and cat game for a bit and at times I felt like punching Nicholas!! He had his reasons for acting some ways, but understanding him didn't make me want to punch him any less. LOL. But then, the chemistry couldn't be denied as they spend more time together and getting to know each other better and a very beautiful relationship is born. And I LOVED every minute of it!!

It truly is a beautiful love story with two very broken individuals who deserve so much happiness, you can't help but cheer for them the entire book. I also really liked the supporting characters, specially the very vocal and hilarious Emma, Nicholas's 4 years old daughter. I love the bond she forms with Karly and how much they love each other. This book had me crying many times, there is a part(You'll know when you get there) that I was a mess, complete mess!!!!! But we also get so many funny and romantics moments that you can't help but smile big, from ear to ear big, so the tears are completely worth it.

It does end with a cliffhanger, and yes, you guessed it, I was a mess, crying and screaming, asking for more Nicholas, but if I had to go through it again, knowing the ending, I would gladly do it. I did not see that ending coming, at all, great twist of events. You must read it!!!! It was a brilliant, lovely story and I can't wait to get more of their story and see what happens next. Be sure to have your one clicker finger ready for this baby, its soooo worth it!!!!
