Harriet Flint paid Roan Zandros to marry her, not realising that he was not a mere artist but a billionaire. She either entered marriage of convenience or lose her ancestral home. It comes clear that he wanted sex. She refused and said that she will yell for help. He instisted that this will not help as she was married to him. so, basically she complied to his demand. He did things to her and then he got her to do things to him- whilst she instisted that she did not love him. They had sex through out the night. It made me wonder, wasn't she sore especially as she was a virgin? When the day light came and she woke up to find him gone. He left her the ring and a note saying that she kept it for survenior.
Roan Zandros is the hero, but sadly, he also happened to be the rapist. Harriet Flint did not consent to sex and by the fact that she was married to him did not make it alright for him to have sex by force. Zandros must be the handsome, billionaire and the hero in the story, but it does not change by the fact he was a rapist.
