This bag replaces a larger (cheaper, also) one. I needed something that was a bit less than a full backpack. My previous bag is also a monosling, but roomier (also chintzier) with a few pockets.
THIS bag is Victorinox: well built, and in ways, well-designed.
Works for right or left shoulder, but clearly is designed to be cross-slung over the right shoulder. (Also slides around to sit against your frontside, if needed.)
3 pockets: the outer and the inner (closer to your back), and the small strap pocket. Small strap pocket is terrific. Deepi-sh, it holds my iphone and wallet. Elastic pocket material is soft against phone glass and can be stretched a bit.
The two pockets are small. The triangular shape makes packing it challenging. (And the design is a bit strange -- the inner pouch extends UNDERNEATH the outer pouch a little, but it is difficult to use that space. Hard to explain, but it was ultimately wasted space.)
Overall, the bag held phone, wallet, small camera, a couple of paperback books, a ziplock of snacks, a small bottle of water, a ziplock of cosmetic items, a rolled up t shirt, and a rolled up pair of leggings. Not a ton of stuff -- it really functions much like a large-ish woman's pocketbook.
The loop hook on top is useful, and the snap flap over the back zipper ostensibly thwarts pickpockets.
There are NO inner pockets -- a real oversight.
Overall, a good bag, but less useful than I would have hoped.
