I was aware this may be a problem for me due to the low profile of the heel cup but bought them anyway as the toe-factor means the shoe stays on my foot quite well anyway.
I still wear these reasonably frequently as they are super comfortable and the fact I only have the skipping problem with one foot (I have two pairs in this style, in two sizes) suggests it’s my foot that is not suited to this style of low-cup heel rather than a ‘design-fault’ with the shoe.

Immediately I bought one more pair (mint color.)
We live in Orlando near Disney, and these are the only shoes I wear to the parks. Lots of walking, lots of heat, and lots of rain in addition to rides where you can get wet. I've worn Vibram KomodoSports for years, but these are easier to put on and so quick to dry. They stay on my feet easily, and do not rub on my heel or above my toes. They are also easier to keep clean and stink-free than other Vibrams I've had due to the improved air circulation. To clean and deodorize, I soak in water with several antibacterial denture tablets for an hour and then dry in fresh air. Minty fresh shoes in no time, ready for another adventure.
AVOID ORDERING YOUR FIRST VIBRAMS ONLINE [Important for sizing!!]
You can measure your own foot to get your EU shoe sizing or might already know what size you wear in contemporary footwear, but comfort in vibrams are going to require you put a pair on and stride around a store for a bit, even my first pair the size the “specialist” selected for me based off of measurements simply weren’t my cup of tea on the fit. I’ve a little toe that doesn’t fit anywhere so I need a half size larger in order to avoid jamming two toes in one place.
All that wordy stuff being said, these are my 6th vibrams in 10 years (moving, natural wear, and just getting lost) and I was pleased to discover the purple colour was dark enough to suit me and only didn’t look a blackish colour against black pants.
My only problem with these were a seam at the heel which rubs mildly but hasn’t left a blister or rubbed skin off. A bandaid fixes the discomfort just fine, I wear these shoes indoors and out (primarily in a city).
I’d prefer a pure black shoe and no rubbing like the pair these had replaced which lacked a rubber sole for outdoor wear, but these are the least expensive and most versatile vibrams I’ve gotten yet.
I want to test these on the beach but they come off when I have napped on the couch with them while asleep, so I am guessing I’d have troubles keeping them on going between the water and sand.
Buy these if you liked trying a pair of vibrams or want another pair, you’ll be happy; expect a little rubbing at the heel.
It's an exact fit, snug fit if my feet start to swell a bit which they tend to do. Would not be able to add socks.
I'm going to hike the AT. I got these as a light, breathable, closed shoe for non hiking times.
Comfort is alright, not amazing, might need to get used to them a bit more.
Takes some practice to get all the toes in the right spot.
My pinky toe and big toe were red and irritated some the first couple of times I wore them for over an hour.
The back of the ankle where the shoe ends gets a lot of friction, also when worn for a long time first few tries.
The shoes arrived intact in their box with a carrying bag in matching color to them.
