*26k word novella

It all began with one stolen kiss…

10,000 years ago, deep in Regia's forests, the Dryads lived hidden and aloof. Determined to serve the Heart of the World, and keep it secret. Shi was chosen at birth to become a Verdant, one of the twenty princesses to sacrifice to the flame. Plagued by curiosity, one night Shi breaks the rules. A Verdant must always remain pure and innocent and never venture out beyond the boundary.
A month after taking the throne, King Leramiun grows restless confined to the castle by his new responsibilities. After receiving reports about a mass grave in the forests, Leramiun makes a rash decision to investigate by himself. Instead of finding death, he finds Shi, a goddess of life.
One stolen kiss…set in motion the destruction of an entire race.

3.0 out of 5 stars Verdant (Shi) 28 March 2015

I enjoy this Novella. It is not what I expected though after reading the first two and thinking I am buying the third. To me this is more of a prequel, to the Legends of Regina. As the focus is on the backstory of Shi. It is a very nice imaginative story. In a more paranormal take on forbidden love, like Romeo and Juliet.

One thing I am finding that I dislike about this series and I don't know if this is just how Tenaya Jayne writes. The book ends very abruptly as did book two. Book one did also but, there are many free books I have read do, but not all as a rule. This I think is pretty much intentional to get you to buy the next book. However, I haven't seen this approach used for every book.

Yes, I will probably read 4 but, hopefully she will start to round out her endings a better. Three books and mounting questions is why it's a three in my own opinion that and it not not really connecting to where two left off if it is book (3) as it is listed. Really would have liked to see how Shi and Forest connect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vivid and Imaginitive 1 July 2014

Tenaya Jayne has created a world that is magical and fantastic, yet she somehow makes it believable. I LOVE the story of Shi and Ler. What a beautiful romance between two people from different worlds, different beliefs. A fast-paced, strongly written novella with compelling characters, both good and evil. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book has been great to get lost in 22 October 2014

This book has been great to get lost in. I love the story line, the characters and the world its created in (wished I was there) Because I had only recently found these books, I was so caught up in the first one, I was lucky enough to read one directly after the other (I didnt even bother to read the book summary, its that good) I can't wait for the nexts. If you enjoy discovering new lands, intrigue, villians, lust love and beauty, this book is that and so much more. Amazing stir of emotions while still being easy and fluent to read. Awesome
4.0 out of 5 stars A Slow, Short Tragedy 28 June 2015
By Kindle Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Shi and King Ler's tragic story of brief love lost to malice.

The previous two books hint at this history, but here is the real deal, what really happened to the dryads. It's short, can be read in a couple hours, but a little slow, and there is no closure. The end changes almost nothing from how it started.
