What more can I say? The thumb stick was replaced within 20 minutes. All the tools I needed came with delivery.
The controller itself is smooth and working flawlessly. I was skeptic all it wouldn’t be up to the same quality as the official thumb stick as 3rd party products rarely are - this thumb stick is identical in terms of quality. It feels brand new all over again and the ‘drift’ is gone.

Cannot recommend higher. If you have drift issues, do yourself a favour and buy one of these.

Although a bit hard for me to dismantle and put it back, the tools and parts works as it described and the joy con is now fixed. Very happy with it.

Using this kit and iFixit guides you can get into the Joycon and fix the terrible drift problems the Nintendo Switch shipped with.

Does what it does and fixed the joycon drift. Joycon button is more clickier than OEM, but not much noticeable as left click is rarely used. Feels nice and much more gripper than oem.

Anyway, cleaned up the old OEM one and will use that as backup after disassembled the actual oem joystick.

Edit: after a few months. The joycon stop working. It just doesn’t like the joystick for some reason. Replaced the joystick with the OEM and the joycon works again. Replaced the this one and the joycon stopped working.
Can I get a replacement?

Product came as advertised, apart from the fact that there was no triwing screwdriver with it, so I couldn't even open the joycon.

Just installed and it works great. We'll see if it lasts long but reasonably easy to install.

Only been able to use my Switch for a few hours so far, but the thing is working like a charm!

My story:
My right joycon had come down with an issue back in November, and by December I had finally gotten annoyed enough to do something about it. Unfortunately, that fix attempt somehow made things worse, turning the thing from, "frequently decided to drift downward," to, "is entirely useless, constantly drifting downward and shifting side-to-side." At that point, I didn't want to try my hand at electronics, so I just bought another one (used) at GameStop. Then, back in March, that one also started to drift downward in the exact same way, and cleaning it didn't do jack (although luckily, it didn't make it worse this time). So, after a month and a half of watching Link shooting arrows a good foot lower than I wanted, or having the camera suddenly decide it would be much more fun for me to play the game from a top-down perspective, I finally bit the bullet and bought a replacement joystick and decided to replace it myself, figuring it'd be much better than having to pony up another $40 to GameStop. I saw that there were two good options for replacement joysticks, this one and a cheaper one that didn't come with any screwdrivers or anything, and I figured that the screwdrivers alone would be worth the four extra dollars.

The package arrived 3 days before it was expected, which was great, and it actually came with slightly more equipment than the picture indicated. It had the joystick, the thumb caps (which I haven't used, but that's just me), the tweezers, and the screwdrivers, but it also came with this little plastic pry bar for pulling apart the casing and lifting up the battery, which also came in handy for flipping the locks on the ribbon cables and moving bits around. It also came with a rounded triangular piece of plastic that I couldn't figure out the use of and which I didn't need, but it came with it so I call it a freebie.

The thing came with all the tools I needed to instal the replacement (and more), and it's working great. The closest thing I could give to a complaint is that there weren't any instructions on how to instal it. However, the instructions were available online, so it wasn't a real problem. In fact, I can't even fault them for not giving instructions with the thing, because it seems that Nintendo changed the layout of the motherboard, because the instructions I used had a slightly different layout compared to my joycon, so any instructions they might give could be entirely useless within a year, while the hardware works just fine. I did take off a star under ease of installation because the ribbon used to hook the joystick to the motherboard is only coloured on the top side, but it installs facing downward, so I couldn't be sure I had it at the right depth (and I'm still not sure it is), but it is working fine for now, so I'm only counting it as an annoyance at the moment.

I haven't included any ratings on durability, being that I only got it yesterday (I may go back and amend this review to include a durability rating in a few months if I remember to), but, honestly, my standards there are pretty low, so all they have to do is manage to be better than Nintendo was (that is, about 6 months max) for me to rate it as perfect. Meanwhile, as I said, the value is great; even if you can get the screwdrivers, tweezers, and plastic pry bar needed at a cheaper price (and the plastic triangle thing), A: it's $4, and B: it's more convenient this way. The only reason to not go with this vs. the cheaper option is if you already have all the dedicated electronics tools laying around at the ready, in which case I suspect you wouldn't be reading this at all, having bought a replacement from a dedicated electronics supply store and already knowing everything about what you're doing.

On the whole, good piece, works great,

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick fix for annoying problem

I installed the new joystick 3 days ago and let me tell you, it sure did the trick! This kit has everything in it, and unlike other reviewers the screwdriver worked just fine for me. No stripped screws thankfully, but just because I didn't have trouble with the screwdrivers does not guarantee that they're all free from defect of course, it sounds like they're mostly fine but who knows.

Anyway, after installing the stick and recalibrating it not once, not twice, but three times (!!) *and* cleaning the internal bit with a q-tip dipped in a bit of isopropyl alcohol, the joystick worked just fine. My guess is a bit of dust wiggled its way inside, so if it doesn't calibrate correctly after installation that might fix it. There are no included instructions but youtube has some, so you'll be fine. If you're already fine with ripping apart your joycon then cleaning the new stick should be no big deal, but it was a bit annoying.

It is the slightest bit different from the stock stick, but it's hardly noticeable. Perhaps my joycons are just well worn in, but the new stick feels much more matte - which I kinda prefer - but time will tell if it gets slippery or not. It does have a more definite click than the stock stick, but again, nothing major. I think it's close enough to the original that it doesn't really matter, and for me it was luckily the right joycon having difficulties so I'll use it less overall, anyway.

As far as actual installation goes, I didn't have any major issues. For the record I have worked the slightest bit with raspberry pi and made a synthesizer using a breadboard so I'm not a total noob to electronics, but I've never worked on a controller before. Connecting the new ribbon cable for the stick was a bit tricky and I scratched up the connection a bit with the tweezers (I couldn't tell if it was in far enough or not), so that may have caused my calibration issues? Maybe? Either way it was fixed so I don't really care.

TL;DR: Easy enough, quality stick, slightest difference to stock but not enough to matter, screwdrivers are fine and they do give 2 extra Y screws if you do strip them (tho I tried to use a new screw and couldn't get it to fit, but that might have been my error so ignore that). Would recommend. Will update if it breaks or something, I guess.
