Well we're on to book 7 of the series and it gets off to a great start. The first four chapters make for great reading with Richard now in the era of Queen Elizabeth the 1st. Who are the hooded men in black and what are they up to? As ever, Richard has to know and in fact soon finds out bringing him into his first contact with Queen Elizabeth the 1st of England and even closer than even he could ever have imagined!! Oh dear, how naughty of you, lol. I'll say no more. Other than that, as ever a great read from Dan mixed with fact, fiction and a cross over of both as well as vampires. Roll on book 8. Highly Recommend.

So well written. Good story if you like horror. I’m still reading the final book on the English Civil War so I don’t know how it will end. The main character’s personality changes over the decades which makes the stories quite realistic. I love how the author uses real historical characters in the story and real history too, if ever so slightly altered, dropping the main character into real historical scenes without compunction. A good read and thoroughly recommended.
Another Davis Classic. The Web of Historical intrigue interwoven with fantastic descriptions of battles and fights, the insights into the religious bigotry and how fanatical some people were over their beliefs is often overlooked by other authors. Cannot wait for the next instalment , in what light Cavaliers and Roundheads will be portrayed ? Will Richard travel more too? Brilliant books Brilliantly written.
