A country detached from world cricket, Crickland has its own standards of playing T20. Skills and expertise of cricketers in this country are unbelievably high compared to current world standards. But this interesting fact is unknown to all who love cricket.
Tino Timusco is the Vice President of Crickland Cricket Association (CCA). He is now on a special mission, traveling to meet various influential people in world cricket. His objective is to gain a place for his country in next year’s World T20 competition.
An island that can barely be seen from a jet aircraft, Crickland is an isolated small piece of mountainous land within the Pacific Ocean, located halfway between Ritano and Simpala, two renowned countries. A cricket crazy nation, Crickland follows an entirely different style to educate and develop its young cricketers. Strange, but true, their formal training on cricket starts from primary school level.
The internet is now part of life and it is no longer possible for Crickland to remain in isolation. Other than broadband internet, this rich country now also has satellite television. Information Technology is the most popular subject in the country. The cricketers are aware of world class. A time has now come when these players are eagerly waiting to expose their hidden talent to the world, provided that they are given an opportunity. It will not be easy for CCA to convince the World Cricket Authority (WCA) that Crickland has attained the required standards and deserves a place in next year’s big league. How will they prove their abilities? Will this challenging job be made possible?
If one person in the entire country can make it happen, it is Tino Timusco, a smart middle aged man, stylish, intelligent and educated in one of the world’s best universities. He has the skills, the communication style and connections with influential people around the world. The problem is that Crickland has no track record …..
What happens next?
This is a modern fairy tale about T20 cricket. These days T20 means not only cricket, but a form of entertainment that covers a wide range. It is a show not only by the cricketers, but also supplemented by male and female commentators and analysts. We can also see presence of dignitaries and film stars. There are also stage dancers, other entertainers and even spectators with various types of outfits who decorate a stadium gallery. There is simply so much variety!
Things are changing fast. 10 years ago there was no international T20. Who knows what will happen after 10 years from now?
