This sci-fi, adventure thriller trilogy is well worth the dollar cost and the time commitment to read. Although it contains some strong violence, that is not for the sake of shock value alone. There is off-setting humour as well. It has a surprise ending. Having enjoyed this trilogy so much, I'll purchase other books by Mr. Zales. An additional incentive to do so was the excerpts supplied at the end of the book.
Really enjoyed the first two books. The new and inventive ways to use their powers was very creative.
I am only in the early stages of the third book. The main characters have super supreme intelligence and can see almost every possibility of what is going to happen - which is fine as their brain power has been immensely enhanced. Why can none of the main characters see the possibility that someone is controlling people with Brainocytes (I dont even know if this is happenning, as I am only early in the book). Surely they should consider it as friend after friend betrays them. Super smart - NOT!
This trilogy takes a big concept and runs with it. Unfortunately that's pretty well all that it does. The characters are two dimensional and hard to tell apart. The plots of the three books are very similar and it was possible to skim the text without missing anything much. I would have been interested in the effects the big concept had on the world at large, but all I got was how much the protagonists thought they were improving humanity. All in all, I found this disappointing, but I did manage to get to the end.
