Firstly, let me say I loved that this was set in Australia! I enjoyed reading about towns and places that I know and have visited, which makes for a very different experience to other contemporary romances I've read which are set in places I'm yet to visit.
Secondly, I love that the whole concept of this story was unique - I have never come across anything like this, despite twins being common in a lot of romances.
Per usual with this author the writing was beautiful and heartfelt, with that little bit of grit thrown in to keep it interesting. Lawson and Reed are amazing MCs who have a true connection, and the alternating POV really help you get to know them. Anders and Brodie are fun supporting characters and I can't wait to see more of them in the next book (which I'm assuming is Anders' given there are only 2 Steele brothers...).
I loved that there was a HEA, and really the only thing missing between the end and the epilogue was Law telling his parents - I would have loved that scene included!
Definitely a book I would recommend, and one I know I will read again.
Eden Finely is a fabulous Aussie author. I adored her Fake Boyfriends series and can’t wait for more to be released.
This latest offering, Unwritten Law was terrific, funny, snarky, sweet and angsty, a perfect novel to get lost within. What I especially liked about it was the different plotline this time around was that Unwritten Law, featuring identical twins who adored each other, even with the epic level of competitiveness existing between them, add in the Hercules cargo hold of PTSD, and historical trauma, and the emotional feels just made the story more interesting and compelling. I thought Ms Finley did a standout job in telling Anders and Law's stories, while leading the romance between Reed and Law along. So many things I loved about this book, the setting (Queensland and New South Wales, this time around) professions, Martial arts, teaching and accounting, great diversity. I loved Law, and Reed, especially together and I honestly can't wait for Anders' story, if anyone needs a huge, huge hug it’s him.
Congratulations to Ms Finley, for another top shelf book. Absolutely highly recommended.
I just love Ms Finley and her MM romances! I was so excited to hear that we had another book coming from this fabulous author so close after the release of her last book! I could not wait to read it. I just love a good MM romance. I thought this book was good. I thought the characters were cute and I am hoping that Anders might have his love story coming next! Maybe with a certain lawyer!
So, Law usually breaks off things with his brother's boyfriends, seeing as no one can tell them apart. There are reasons behind this, and they come to light as you read the story. I felt like Law could have told Reed several times about what was happening but he chose not to. Reed is a teacher, and new to town. He gets set up on a blind date with Anders. Or is it Anders? hmm.. you will have to read to find out what happens.
I enjoyed reading this story. I enjoy reading all of Ms Finley's stories. I was pulled in by the blurb and the cover, because the cover is pretty hot. I like the premise of the story and the way the words flowed. I thought the characters were great together even through the slight deception. I can't wait to see what else comes from this series!
What's not to love about this book: identical twins, Australian setting, identity swap, LGBTI youth, past trauma, drama, romance, hot....... I could not put this book down. These characters were just great and their story was terrific. I can't wait for the follow up book.
