I got taken away from the first sentence. Love theses characters and the dynamics that follows. I love Eden's writing, its so real and raw. I feel like I know these characters. I loved the depth in this story and the fact that Eden embraces the serious issues of domestic violence and that the people around the victims are sufferers too. I love the ups and downs of the story and theres nothing wrong with a little twin fun and hijinx. I enjoyed the story development and seeing the feelings develop between Law and Reed was really special. I loved this story and have a massive soft spot for the Steele Brothers and lookforward to Anders story which I'm hoping is coming up next....
I also love that its set in my current home town and get stupidly giddy when I see references to Carindale or Brisbane, for me it make the characters more real, like I could pass them in the street (which also sounds a little creepy knowing their bedroom activities). All in all a great book, recommend read and I love reading and connecting with Australian authors and lookforward to many more books by Eden Finley!!
I received this as an ARC in exchange an honest review. I love Eden Finley: she always has well developed characters and she often has a cool take on subjects like virginity. So I wasn't prepared to struggle so much with this book. I don't really like books where the trope is a big lie that you know will cause major issues i future, so that was already going to inhibit my enjoyment. I think the lie is too big and, for me, it crosses into dubious consent lines and I just couldn't bring myself to like or forgive the lie, even though there is obviously a HFN ending and lots of reasons are given as to why Law does what he does. It's a well written book and well edited as always, and if this trope isn't a turn off for you, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It just wasn't for me. I'm still lookingforward to reading Anders story and definitely recommend Eden Finley as an author to have on your must-buy list.
Let me start by saying... I absolutely loved this book!! Anders and Law are identical twins. Law would do absolutely anything for his brother, and that includes pretending to be him to breakup with his boyfriends and/or potential dates... until Law comes face to face with Reed. This book had me excited. Not only did Reed meet Law as Anders, he also develops a friendship with Law himself (Ander's straight brother). I couldn't wait to see how Law was going to dig himself out of this hole. At what point do you come clean with the person you're attracted to and confess that you were lying to them from day one? Ms Finley's had me on the edge of my seat with this book. This story had all the feels.. deceit, angst, sweetness, humour and sexy times. I am lookingforward to Ander's book as I know his story will break my heart!!
This is the second book I've read by this author and I loved it just as much as the first. I loved the identical twin aspect that managed to be unique and I enjoyed getting to know all of the characters. I loved Law and Reed and it was fun to read along through all of the ups and downs in their relationship. The jokes and banter and chemistry between all of the characters was fantastic. Lookingforward to reading Anders story and seeing what comes next in this series!
