Freaking Floved every moment, I was captivated from page one until the very end and I soooo did not want this book to end. I am absolutely in love with Law and Reed. I wasn't sure what to expect when I read the blurb but damn was this way better then I was expecting and then some. The story is angsty, gripping and hot. Law and Anders are identicaltwins and due to a past of Anders Law is the one who always breaks up with Anders current boyfriends. Yet for the first time ever Law sees someone he wants and it all become one big mess that snowballs and you don't see ending well, because Reed thinks Law is Anders and yet becomes friends by accident with Law but doesn't realise that they are the same person.
Crazy twins :-) This is fun. Confusion reigns as identities change and eventually the truth cannot be contained under a beard any longer. Worth the read and I can imagine what Anders gets up to in book 2..... Brody perhaps...?
Eden Finley strikes again!!! I can’t say enough good things about this book! As always Eden’s writing style is beautiful and full of banter and humour. I love how she writes her characters and makes them so real you want to be friends with them. I completely fell in love with both Law and Reed, they are amazing, beautiful and intense characters. I also fell in love with Anders (Law’s twin) and I think his story will be a tear jerker.
Anders has had some trauma in his past which has led to him having a lot of difficulty in relationships. When the going gets too tough for him and he needs to get out he usually asks Law to step in and break up with his current boyfriend on his behalf which is easy for them to manage with them being identicaltwins. While Law doesn’t like doing this, he’ll do anything to protect his brother from further hurt. This is all ok until Anders asks Law to step in and stand Reed up before they’ve even had their first date. Law goes to do the deed and instantly feels a spark with Reed and ends up being his date in Anders place. He keeps meaning to own up, but when to do it - during date one which is casual, date two which he promises himself won’t happen and so on....
So Reed and Law have a big secret to overcome if they are to get their HEA. Luckily they have lots of chemistry (and I mean a big bang not a little spark!) and a real connection, but will these be enough to get them through the lies and hurt.
Read it now, you won’t be disappointed!!
I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review
Eden Finely is a fabulous Aussie author. I adored her Fake Boyfriends series and can’t wait for more to be released.
This latest offering, Unwritten Law was terrific, funny, snarky, sweet and angsty, a perfect novel to get lost within. What I especially liked about it was the different plotline this time around was that Unwritten Law, featuring identicaltwins who adored each other, even with the epic level of competitiveness existing between them, add in the Hercules cargo hold of PTSD, and historical trauma, and the emotional feels just made the story more interesting and compelling. I thought Ms Finley did a standout job in telling Anders and Law's stories, while leading the romance between Reed and Law along. So many things I loved about this book, the setting (Queensland and New South Wales, this time around) professions, Martial arts, teaching and accounting, great diversity. I loved Law, and Reed, especially together and I honestly can't wait for Anders' story, if anyone needs a huge, huge hug it’s him.
Congratulations to Ms Finley, for another top shelf book. Absolutely highly recommended.
Let me start by saying... I absolutely loved this book!! Anders and Law are identicaltwins. Law would do absolutely anything for his brother, and that includes pretending to be him to breakup with his boyfriends and/or potential dates... until Law comes face to face with Reed. This book had me excited. Not only did Reed meet Law as Anders, he also develops a friendship with Law himself (Ander's straight brother). I couldn't wait to see how Law was going to dig himself out of this hole. At what point do you come clean with the person you're attracted to and confess that you were lying to them from day one? Ms Finley's had me on the edge of my seat with this book. This story had all the feels.. deceit, angst, sweetness, humour and sexy times. I am looking forward to Ander's book as I know his story will break my heart!!
This is the second book I've read by this author and I loved it just as much as the first. I loved the identicaltwin aspect that managed to be unique and I enjoyed getting to know all of the characters. I loved Law and Reed and it was fun to read along through all of the ups and downs in their relationship. The jokes and banter and chemistry between all of the characters was fantastic. Looking forward to reading Anders story and seeing what comes next in this series!
What's not to love about this book: identicaltwins, Australian setting, identity swap, LGBTI youth, past trauma, drama, romance, hot....... I could not put this book down. These characters were just great and their story was terrific. I can't wait for the follow up book.
