Firstly, let me say I loved that this was set in Australia! I enjoyed reading about towns and places that I know and have visited, which makes for a very different experience to other contemporary romances I've read which are set in places I'm yet to visit.
Secondly, I love that the whole concept of this story was unique - I have never come across anything like this, despite twins being common in a lot of romances.
Per usual with this author the writing was beautiful and heartfelt, with that little bit of grit thrown in to keep it interesting. Lawson and Reed are amazing MCs who have a true connection, and the alternating POV really help you get to know them. Anders and Brodie are fun supporting characters and I can't wait to see more of them in the next book (which I'm assuming is Anders' given there are only 2 Steele brothers...).
I loved that there was a HEA, and really the only thing missing between the end and the epilogue was Law telling his parents - I would have loved that scene included!
Definitely a book I would recommend, and one I know I will read again.

Freaking Floved every moment, I was captivated from page one until the very end and I soooo did not want this book to end. I am absolutely in love with Law and Reed.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I read the blurb but damn was this way better then I was expecting and then some. The story is angsty, gripping and hot.
Law and Anders are identical twins and due to a past of Anders Law is the one who always breaks up with Anders current boyfriends. Yet for the first time ever Law sees someone he wants and it all become one big mess that snowballs and you don't see ending well, because Reed thinks Law is Anders and yet becomes friends by accident with Law but doesn't realise that they are the same person.
I am very excited to read Anders book next.

I loved reading this complicated story of Law and Reed. This has everything in it. It hooked me from the first page. Law is a very loving soul but get himself into a real bind. Reed is also a very loving soul and has no idea why he wants one brother while sleeping with the other twin or is he?. I think Eden has don a fantastic job with all the dynamics in this story. Totally loved it and totally worth 5 stars. Very Highly recommend reading this.

I read this book in less than twelve hours - it was that good. Law and Reed's story was fun, sexy and emotional all at the same time. Eden Finley has such a relaxed, easy-to-read style that I really enjoy. I was particularly taken with the character of Law's brother, Anders. Can't wait for his book!

Crazy twins :-) This is fun. Confusion reigns as identities change and eventually the truth cannot be contained under a beard any longer. Worth the read and I can imagine what Anders gets up to in book 2..... Brody perhaps...?

Let me start by saying... I absolutely loved this book!!
Anders and Law are identical twins. Law would do absolutely anything for his brother, and that includes pretending to be him to breakup with his boyfriends and/or potential dates... until Law comes face to face with Reed.
This book had me excited. Not only did Reed meet Law as Anders, he also develops a friendship with Law himself (Ander's straight brother).
I couldn't wait to see how Law was going to dig himself out of this hole. At what point do you come clean with the person you're attracted to and confess that you were lying to them from day one?
Ms Finley's had me on the edge of my seat with this book. This story had all the feels.. deceit, angst, sweetness, humour and sexy times.
I am looking forward to Ander's book as I know his story will break my heart!!

Eden Finely is a fabulous Aussie author. I adored her Fake Boyfriends series and canโt wait for more to be released.
This latest offering, Unwritten Law was terrific, funny, snarky, sweet and angsty, a perfect novel to get lost within. What I especially liked about it was the different plotline this time around was that Unwritten Law, featuring identical twins who adored each other, even with the epic level of competitiveness existing between them, add in the Hercules cargo hold of PTSD, and historical trauma, and the emotional feels just made the story more interesting and compelling. I thought Ms Finley did a standout job in telling Anders and Law's stories, while leading the romance between Reed and Law along.
So many things I loved about this book, the setting (Queensland and New South Wales, this time around) professions, Martial arts, teaching and accounting, great diversity. I loved Law, and Reed, especially together and I honestly can't wait for Anders' story, if anyone needs a huge, huge hug itโs him.
Congratulations to Ms Finley, for another top shelf book. Absolutely highly recommended.

Mistaken identity leads to love

Lawson will do anything to help and protect his gay identical twin brother, Anders. The reason becomes evident further into the book. So when Anders needs Lawson to break off a date for him, he meets Reed as Anders. The break up didn't go as expected and Lawson leaves with Reed at the end of the night.
Things get so confusing when Reed and Lawson find themselves working along side each other and Reed still hooks up with Anders even though he wishes it is Lawson.
Lawson knows he needs to come clean to Reed, he's falling for him hard. He's not out even to his twin as that's Anders thing and sometimes twins need their own thing. When the chance of confessing is taken away from him how will Lawson make things right?
I really enjoyed this book. I didn't warm to Anders in the beginning but further into the book all becomes clear and all is redeemed. Lawson & Reed are just so adorable and I'm glad Lawsons first time was with Reed.
Looking forward to Anders book and more of Brody!

I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy this book when I read the blurb, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance.
Eden can write so well and from the glimpses I got of Anders, I can't wait for his book.
I really liked the main characters, Reed and Law, a lot.
They're both really likeable and I admire Law a lot. Not for the stunt he pulled, but for the person he is.
I can recommend this book 100%. You're going to enjoy it.

Twins...

Laws charade frustrated the hell out of me... He is making it quite hard for himself. But all in all he is a really good guy. If there only wasn't his "obligation" to his ptsa-twinbrother and... Well, read for yourself, get frustrated by that guy and fall for him on that way.

Not my favorite trope

2.5 stars.
I knew going in that the entire storyline was based on a misunderstanding, but I guess I hoped in my heart, that it wouldn't take all the focus, because I don't really like stories like that. I kept wanting to yell at them to just talk to each other and get over their selfimposed purgatory.
So the lukewarm rating is completely due to my inability to pass an interesting blurb with a trope I don't like, and does not reflect on the book itself.

3 stars!! ๐So I almost quit it a few times and the only reason I didn't give this 2 stars is because it somewhat redeemed itself in the last few chapters. ๐
To start with, I went into this book expecting the spark and humor from Fake Out & Trick Play; but to my disappointment despite the premise being as absurd as Eden F's other books, it didn't feel like a comedy of errors.. but more like a dramedy with 3 characters. Law and Reed (the MCs) and Anders (Law's twin). The story was of identical twins, where Law frequently pretends to be Anders to help him deal with confrontations; but it so happens that one of those pretenses goes longer and naive Reed gets emotionally and physically involved with both brothers; although in reality he with only one brother (Law). Confused yet? ๐ But Law can't come clean to Reed so he keeps pretending to be Law by day and Anders by night.... (why? why? why? ๐ฌ๐ณ) He had every opportunity to come clean and salvage the growing attraction but he keeps putting it off.. ๐คจ๐คฌ. Finally the truth comes out with some side drama and there is lots of guilt and shame and all that jazz. Nevertheless they do reconcile eventually in a sweet way which compensates for the disappointing plot. The HEA and sizzling steam save the book from being a complete wash-out.
I've been an Eden F fan so far.. but after this one, I'm not sure I will read Steel Brothers #2. ๐
