A like a series boxed as a set & this is one that's been on my list for awhile. A nice warm & fuzzy romantic read, not without some angst & tragedy. The only thing is why Rich waited 9 yrs? It's partly explained but still !
An unlikely pair in college then when Brooke finally follows her dreams Rich is there. Career or love? Rich has other ideas & is a little over the top at times but then again why? 9yrs have passed. But you can't deny the chemistry. There's some good secondary characters to add to the mix making this a very good story. While there is loss things get a bit strained between the two but of course there's a HEA.
This is a recommended & enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rich and Brooke are the definition of HEA!!! 14 September 2015

First off, MC I can not wait to meet you next month and have this beauty signed and sitting on my bookshelf!! Second, this series deserves a hella of a lot more than five stars!!! My emotions have just went on the rollercoaster of a life time. I laughed, cried, and found myself wanting to strangle some the characters at times. Brooke and Rich go through it all and come out some of the strongest characters I have read. Their HEA couldn't have been more beautiful.

Now I want to give some attention to two of the secondary characters. First I wish I had my own bbopof! Cassidy is an amazing best friend. You don't find many friends who would drop what they are doing and jump on plane for you. Blake aka Early, is an amazing father and best friend. My heart broke for him in Unscripted but, like Rich and Brooke, he became a stronger character through his tragedy.

Just an amazing series. These characters will forever remain in my heart❤

I cannot wait for the second book to come out. This book started this series off great. You see the struggle with both Brooke and Rich through the book. I'm not going to give any spoilers away but you will not want to just stop with this book. The story that is presented is amazing. I was mesmerized with how the characters grew and show they handle things in ways that people cannot understand. Their story is beautiful and like I said before I'm so ready for the next book to be released to see how their story continues. If you have not read this book yet, stop what you are doing and read it! It is amazing and you will defiantly not regret it! Love the book M.C Decker you did an amazing job with this and cannot wait for the second book Unscripted to come out!

M.C. I wanted to strangle you in the way you left us in the last book! In a good way!! If you have not read Unwritten stop right now and go read it! I have to say how you left us hanging with the last book I didn’t know what to think. I felt lost, broken, and like how can this happen! You can through but it was a struggle for Rich and Brooke from page one. My heart broke and I didn’t know if I would be able to finish. I kept through it and I am so glad I did! They both go through a lot and they don’t know how to manage the cards they are dealt with. Once both of them come to their senses! Thank God! I was so relieved they worked though their troubles and came back together. My heart was once whole again! When they face another obstacle they are doing it together this time not alone. They are both brave and pull through. I have to say that I couldn’t get through of some of those parts without Brooke friend Cassidy! She is a firecracker and I have a feeling that there is more to come from her. Brooke and Rich are made for each other and I am so glad they got their HEA! M.C. Great job with the book girl! Keep it up and I cannot wait for more to come!
4.0 out of 5 stars Messy and beautiful, just like love & life 16 September 2015

You are very lucky that you're getting these books back to back because I had to wait after the first one & it was torture! I'm going to break this review down by book but trust me you don't want to miss out on this series!

Unwritten- Trust me, when I say this book will not disappoint you. I was up, down., backwards and sideways with everything that happened. M.C. Decker created a world with characters that were realistic and likeable. There are so many pop-culture and history references throughout the first half of the book that it truly took me back in time (to the early 2000's).

Unwritten follows the story of Brooke. We first meet her while she in college working on her undergraduate degree. I fell in love with Brooke and her determination from the get-go. She knew what she wanted and she had her plan set to make that happen. When she, literally runs into Rich before the start of a class, she knows that her life is going to get complicated. Rich is arrogant, diligent and self-absorbed. He is dedicated to reaching his goals and doesn't have time for things or people that will stand in his way. However, through a course assignment, him and Brooke develop a quasi-friendship. Over time, Rich develops feelings for Brooke. However, it is not the right time in their lives for them to be together. They part ways after Rich's graduation (he is a year older than her) but don't keep in touch.

Flash forward ten years, Brooke isn't quite where she wants to be in life. After life threw her a few curve balls, she stuck around for her dad and her best friend, Cass. When opportunity came knocking, she had to take the chance; it was her dream after all. Fate has a funny way of working because just as she first met Rich, he runs right into him again. This time Rich is ready for what he's wanted for the last ten years, his shot with Brooke. He has the power to make or break her and her dreams and he uses it to his advantage. Good for Brooke for not letting him though. She was there to work and that was it. However, all Rich heard was, game on. He really pulled out the charm while still respecting her wishes. This really endeared him to me; his patience and persistence were true to his character (and though that may seem to contradict itself, it is perfectly Rich). Gah! I wanted to jump into my e-reader more than once and knock some sense into the both of them, they were so perfect for each other it they would just let it happen!

Thankfully, Cass was there to break up some of the angst with her quick wit and sense of humor. She was the perfect balance to Brooke's seriousness. And of course there was Rich to help bring back her spark. When they finally, and I mean finally, like 65% into the book, get together, I sighed with relief. Rich was absolutely perfect in the second half of the book and he remembered everything. The chemistry between them was off the charts. Of course, it couldn't end there. Just when things are looking on the up and up for Rich and Brooke...BAM! Cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers! I was not at all prepared for that at all and my heart stopped for a few seconds. I kept trying to flip for another page that wasn't there (See what I mean- lucky you don't have to wait).

After that heart stopping cliffhanger I jumped right into Unscripted This picks up a bit after the events at the end of Unwritten then travels back in time to fill in the missing gaps. The opening really pulled at my heart and had me gasping and shaking my head. The devastation and pain was palpable and my heart hurt right along with Brooke's. Thankfully, she had her best friend and the sister of her heart, Cass there to hold her hand. But Cass also gave her the kick in the pants she needed to get out of her own head at times too. In her confusion and pain she turns to someone unexpected, Jason. I was thinking to myself don't go there Brooke. But she did and it only drove home how much she loved, missed and needed Rich.

Rich, yes- mini spoiler alert- he is alive but not well. The shooting and other events that happened that day really got to him and he is not the same man Brooke fell so hard for. His downward spiral effected everyone around him. Even his best friend Blake couldn't get through to him. It took another tragedy to pull Rich from his stupor but what a turn around he made. Gone was the cold, abrasive lost man and in his place was the warm, caring and genuine man that I remembered. I was so happy to see the change in him and how he fought to win back Brooke's trust and heart. He pulled out a few big moves that had me swooning.

But in true M.C. Decker fashion, it wasn't smooth sailing for long. Aubrey, that royal piece of work is back with a new scheme up her sleeve. I love that it didn't tear them apart this time but managed to make Rich and Brooke stronger and bring them even closer together. It also put into motion another part the future that they wanted so desperately. I loved seeing this softer side of Rich and Brooke.

Overall, Unscripted was a well rounded conclusion to the tale that started with Unwritten. It was messy and beautiful all at once, just like life and love. Brooke and Rich fought hard for the happiness and future that they wanted with each other. They wrote their own story and it was a happily ever after that was perfectly them. M.C. Decker made me laugh, cry, fan myself, swoon and sigh. I sincerely hope that this isn't the last I see of them or Blake and Cass.

Book 1 : Unwritten

This was an Amazing book, I saw the book trailer first, and I
have to say I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. Rich and Brooke will melt your heart, two people who have always had a great connection, and even after the years go by they really never forget about each other, they just move on with their lives. Rich always secretly hopes that someday Brookes application will pass across his desk, so he could see her again. Brooke dream is to work for the Washington Post someday, little did she know her world was about to be turned upside down, when she is called for an interview at the place she has always dreamed of working for. Her best friend Cassidy is the amazing, and her god daughter Kaitlyn is the sweetest little girl ever. Loved her Dad, they have such a great relationship. The ending blew me away, I felt Brooke's pain, I'm kinda freaking out not knowing what happened. I can't wait for the next book. This book is a page Turner, once you start it you won't be able to put it down. This is the first book I have read of M.C. Decker and I'm hooked, I can't wait to read more of her books, she is Amazing! So don't waste anymore time grab this book up, you won't be disappointed, it will just leave you wanting more, Its worth more than 5 stars. Loved the bonus scenes.

Book 2 Unscripted

Book 1 (Unwritten) left me devastated, I couldn't wait to get Book 2 (Unscripted) in my hands. This book was beyond amazing, it made me laugh, and cry, my emotions were all over the place. My heart broke for Brooke and all the pain she went through. Glad Aubrey got what was coming to her, what a Bit**. You will love this book, such an emotional read, so have your Kleenex ready you will need them. MC Decker never disappoints, her books are Phenomenal, they take you there, and make you feel what the characters feel. Definitely recommend this book, start with Unwritten believe me you will be so glad you did, this Author is the Best. This is a 10 star read, so grab it up now.

First off, I want to say THANK YOU MC, for the ARC of Unwritten. I so liked the book so much. The character development and story line…! I could not put it down! I was sooo frustrated by/for the characters (in a good way), the way they kept missing each other, but, when Brooke and Rich finally do get together in the book….magnificent! I loved all, lead and sub, characters in this book. Will there ever be a book for Cassidy?
Next, MC, I am extremely sorry for all of the names I was calling you yesterday evening while reading Unscripted! I think I went thru three tissues. However, I kept reading and made it to "Next Day - Brooke". You may live! However, Aubrey may not!! By the way MC, I finished Unscripted the same way I started it, with tears. However, this time they were happy tears, very happy tears.
The story of Rich and Brooke is a love that is meant to be. I do not want to go into any further descriptions, however, if you love a GREAT romance story, READ THESE BOOKS.
I loved this story so, so much. MC Decker did a phenomenal job writing these stories. The emotional roller coaster during these books really cannot be described. Unwritten and Unscripted are two books in the Unspoken series, although each is a standalone book, you really need to read both to understand all of the intricacies in the series. This is why MC has re-released them in a box set. I cannot wait to read more from MC Decker. MC, you are an extraordinary author! Thank you for writing.
