RIDICULOUS. I mean every second page and the Duke is finding young women hiding in his coach, house, bedroom, wardrobe, etc. What absolute rubbish. Not even the biggest catch of the season would have had debutantes ruining their reputations and causing a scandal which would have ruined their family and younger sisters chances of finding a respectable match. And how on earth they got into a coach without the coachman feeling the sway and dip of their entrance is beyond me. The author obviously has never seen or sat in an English coach from that period. Perhaps she thought it was a coach like a Greyhound. I have never heard of close family members referring to their relatives to their face by their title. One minute Lord Archer calls Nathaniel Nevvy and the next Your Grace. There were too many loose ends. Why did Sir Henry hate the Duke so much? How come Sir Henry didn't wonder where Red had taken her. Why was the dog hanging off Red's coat by its teeth? My goodness this book read like a bedtime tale told by the author to her little sister. I certainly don't think it was read by anyone outside her loving family.
Definitely not an author worth the title.
