You will need your tissues for this it will have you crying before you know it. Like the previous books in the series the leading male in this case Seth is the regular alpha stand up man And the girls in the series sometimes come across as the weak duckling while story is sad there are 2 main twists the first was obvious while the second Was not and the ending Was a little rushed it still gave you all the feels you want from a romance

Thank you so very much for this book. I've been reading my way through these guys and this one totally broke my heart.
I am just about to start my own chemotherapy journey for breast cancer and there are times that I wish I was as strong.
Kaylee, you write beautifully. Your words and your compassion, especially with the subject of terminal cancer has actually helped me. I'm lucky, I've had my family and had many years with them but I still need to be here for them.
Poignant, heart-felt, wonderfully written.

Kaylee Ryan killed me with this book! I have come to expect great things from her, especially with this series and she didn’t disappoint with Seth’s story.
This group of guys are so tight knit and close like brothers, it’s a lovely bond to read about. Each of them finding their romantic match has been difficult, heartbreaking but oh so worth it in the long run and Seth was no different.
I love the way the found each other and the connection they forged as friends first. The circumstances that brought them together were bizarre, but wonderful & he was so very swoony that she had zero chance of not falling for him. The bond they had & the loved they shared was so beautiful.
Kaylee kept this book real. With the things the characters discussed, the issues that they faced and ties that bind, it was truly a beautiful thing to behold.
“But that’s life. It’s unexpected and unpredictable. You have to learn to roll with the punches and take it one day at a time.”
This book was heartbreaking and emotional, gripping and humorous & all things fantastic.
I cannot recommend this series & Kaylee Ryan enough!

If you've been reading this series in order then you know you're going to need a box of tissues and if possible a big glass of wine. If you are reading this as a standalone, well be prepared for the ugly crying while reading it.
I saved reading this for a day I could lock myself away in my bedroom and I still wasn't prepared. I am not going to give you any spoilers but I am going to try explain the feels.
So there were two twists in this book. And honestly the first one was obvious AF and I knew where it was going from the first chapter. I was sure I wasn't going to like this book. The second one I didn't see coming. But the way they intertwined was more than I was ready for.
I honestly thought, when the first twist was revealed, that there was going to be a lot of drama and heartache. I know I couldn't have coped with anywhere near the grace that the h does and it made the book.
These guys have been through the wringer. And they have all tackled it together but this time I felt it was more about them all since they were all somewhat affected by the twist in this one.
Now don't get me wrong, there was heartache and I cried and cried while reading this. Sometimes with a smile on my face and a few times with sobs. But there was no drama and that just made the feels that much stronger.
I have to say I am scared to see what is going to happen in Kent's book. But I can't wait to catch up with the crew and see the next generation grow and expand. Now I just need to figure out what winter 2020 means to the author cause this Aussie is hoping that's before our winter in June.

This story is a tragedy tied together with an unexpected bond. At times the tears will feel never ending only to lead you into a smile that would light up a night sky. Seth and Mara’s story is unconventional but one that will bond with your heart and soul forever. My heart ached, it rejoiced and then repeated the process. Unexpected Bond is one of unconditional love, forever love and childhood friendships. The words will burrow deep under your skin and at times leave you breathless. I mourned, I celebrated but most of all I fell head over heels in love with Seth, Mara and the unexpected bond.

3.5 stars.
This, as an independent story, was decent even if it can’t be read as a stand-alone.
As part of the series? It was okay.
My main problem, and this has happened before, when Kaylee is finishing a series she originally started as a stand-alone, she tends to rush and reads as if she wants to get it over with.
Up until now, we’ve heard very little of Seth, or Amelia for that matter.
I wanted to get to know him outside of him being like every other guy in this series, and indeed, one of Kaylee’s leading men. We don’t get much of him at all. We don’t get much of Mara either. The book also starts in the middle of their relationship. I want to see the start, the fun, getting to know you part, but again, like the previous book, we don’t get it, which is a shame and takes away from the romance of the book I think.
This book, really, is about Amelia, who seems to pop out of nowhere. I also found the storyline to be a little predictable.
I really love Kaylee’s books, but I feel like something is missing here. It doesn’t read like she wanted to write this, rather than she felt like she had to. It’s also a little one note and similar to every other book in the series and her wider catalogue. It pains me to say this, but it’s truly what I feel,
Sorry.

What a story, what a great bunch of friends/family. I don't think I have ever shed so many tears while reading a book. Make sure you read the whole series in order.

Kaylee Ryan has captivated me with her books in the past. She did the same with this beautiful story. My heart broke. I ugly cried. I have loved getting to know these characters and felt everything that they were throughout.

Not for me
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 December 2019Verified Purchase
I am an avid Kaylee Ryan fan however, this book really missed the mark for me. Although there were some poignant and lovely moments, I generally found the plot uncomfortable. I disliked how the main heroine overcame certain issues so quickly, focusing more on not losing Seth than her and her daughter. I would have perhaps preferred if we had greater understanding of her feelings, as it would have made the plot more believable and added a reality to a situation that would have been difficult for her. Although I personally didn’t like the story, I can appreciate the storytelling and empathy that was beautifully painted in the tight knit group of friends. I will read the next instalment of the series as I have enjoyed the other books however, this one is definitely my least favourite

Unfortunately, I am sad, but this book didn't work for me.
Reviewed in the United States on 22 December 2019Verified Purchase
I've been a fan of Kaylee Ryan since July 2014. It was when I read Tempting Tatum, which to this day is my favorite read of all the 1800 books in my library. But this one did not work for me. I completely lost interest in this book in the 14th chapter. That was when Amelia found out she was pregnant with Seth's baby. Let me tell you now there is NO CHEATING. Seth hooked up with Amelia before he was even interested in Mara. Let me set everyone straight. Unfortunately for me I completely lost interest in this book after that. It had no bearing on Amelia having Seth's baby, because they happened before Mara and Seth got together. Now there is no where for Mara and Seth to go. I had absolutely no sympathy and no love for this book. And I hate that. I so wanted to love it. I am a huge fan of Kaylee Ryan. I guess there comes a time where you'll read a book that doesn't mesh. And this one was mine. I believe this is the first book I didn't offer a 5 Star rating. I literally had to put my big girl panties on and finish this book. Though I almost DNF after the 15th chapter. And I hate being in the review minority. But this book did nothing for me. And don't let me deter you from reading. I am sure you'll love it. I just didn't.
Why didn't Kent father Amelia's baby? I would have absolutely loved this book if that was the case. But Seth. I wasn't happy. In truth, what is the point of condoms? That's how Ridge got Knox. What is the point of protection if it doesn't work?
Speaking of Tempting Tatum- it was good to hear from Blaise and Asher. They both had a cameo. And so did Tatum. They did tattoos. Which was a nice questure.
I apologize in my heart of hearts. But this book was written very well. I just can't get over the pregnancy. I am so very sorry.

OH MY HECK!!! This story is emotional GOLD.
10+++ stars!!!
Seth & Mara's story isn't just THEIR story, and it's absolutely an emotional ride that you'll probably want some tissues for. I didn't want to put this down to work today, and there were some tears shed while reading. On break. At work. Yep, it's THAT good, it got tears out of me!!
There are some super sweet moments, some laughs, too. I love love love this group, this family. I love watching them grow throughout the series. I love their closeness and the way they support each other. It's beautiful.
Beautiful story all around, even w/ the emotional impact. <3 : )

Too much of the same thing
Reviewed in the United States on 24 December 2019Verified Purchase
Let me start by saying I love Kaylee Ryan 's books. I will continue to buy them, but the past 4 or 5 everything has been the same. Someone dies, New baby, lots of hugs and kisses, etc etc ect. It would be nice to pick up a book and be blown away. Not everything so predictable. I knew as soon as Seth and Amelia got together that one drunken night, there would be a baby. ( very start of book). I was a touch surprised that Amelia died and not Mara. Best friends to lovers and all that. My point, just because something feels comfortable to write about, don't put it in every book. Mixed thing up a bit!
