Product Description

Kenric St. James is out for revenge. Over 300 years ago, an ancient female vampire turned him against his will and killed the woman he loved. He’s spent more than a century building an Enclave of warrior vampires who have sworn to defend humanity against his evil sire and her minions. But when Kenric finds a woman he finally burns to claim as his own again, Kenric knows loving her means giving his sire another target.

Emily Ross just wanted a fresh start. She’s a survivor, coming off the tail end of an abusive relationship, and craves time alone to learn who she is and to save the home that holds her heart. The last thing she needed was a controlling, alpha male calling all the shots.

Meeting Kenric might just have changed her mind, though. He is wrong for her in all the right ways. But in order to keep her heart from breaking, he first has to keep the hordes of evil vamps from stealing her very breath.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story...hated the hero 24 November 2013
By K. April Holgate - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I really tried to like this book, I did, but It was just too much for me. I like dominant heroes but this one was way too controlling. If I had been Emily, I might have been tempted to stake Kenric myself!

On the plus side the writing is good and the story telling flows nicely. Loads going on in the book but my dislike of the hero really colored my feelings. But there are plenty of girls out there who like the controlling fantasy man, no other explanation for 50 shades popularity. If you like that book you might did this book too.

Jessica Lee is a new author to me and I am definitely going to give the next book a shot. She has a definite voice and made a full and engaging world. She did a beautiful job or writing multiple POV, with is my favorite style and makes for a fuller understanding of the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Story, Romance and Good Secondary Characters 17 July 2013
By Douglas C. Meeks - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I really liked this book in spite of the fact it seemed to follow a path well tread in the Black Dagger Brotherhood and Midnight Breed series with the Enclave being a group of warriors fighting a group of "bad" vampires but there are enough differences to make this an very entertaining reading experience.

Kenric St. James is a master vampire in addition to being head of The Enclave and has not had any type of personal relationship in 300 years due to bad memories of the last time he tried.

Emily Ross is just trying to reboot her life and forget some terrible relationships in her life including the last abusive one.

The last thing either of them seem to need is each other but the story throws them together in a fateful way and since Emily is tired of men in general and controlling men like Kenric in particular it was not all smooth sailing. The romance seemed to move in random bursts and many times a bit too fast for my tastes and took a goodly portion of the book before it became believable but it does accomplish that before too long.

The big evil thing is a female power hungry vampire named Marguerite (and also Kenrick's sire) who is a very evil character and may be one of the best written characters in the book. She really does do bat **** crazy evil b**** very well .

There are some tragedy and other things in this novel that are hinted at but never explained and while I understand leaving hints for future novels in this series they were a bit irritating since the character of Markus plays a big part in this novel and his past and motivations are never explained adequately.

Bottom Line: This was a really good reading experience but could have been 5 Star with a bit more effort but as it is I give it a solid 4 Star rating (possibly a bit more or less depending on the reader) and will be reading the next novel in the series and hope that it can reach the full potential of this story. The first novel in a series not being a full 5 Star novel is the norm but I usually expect the second one to step up in overall quality and I certainly hope this one does because there are a LOT of great stories in this world yet to be told. I certainly hope my inner "revenge junkie" is fed better in the next book, for a book which says in the synopsis "Kenric St. James is out for revenge." by the end of the book I felt cheated out of that revenge on several fronts.

5.0 out of 5 stars My review: Undying Destiny 24 June 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I've never really been into novels about vampires or anything paranormal for that matter, but when I saw the chance to review Undying Destiny I decided to give it a try. The first thing I loved was the cover. Obviously you should never judge a book by its cover but in this case it fit perfectly with this book.

This story is about Emily Ross. She's a nurse that is looking to start over after ending a relationship with a man who abused her. She's been broken down one to many times and vows that she will never allow another man to control or dominate her ever again.

Kenric is a vampire who is three hundred years old. He was the creation of a vampire named Marguerite who wanted him as a mate only so she could become a more powerful vampire than she already was. Kenric hasn't loved another since Marguerite took away the one love of his life and has been alone for centuries. He's content with his Enclave and protects the humans from the DEADs vampire that enjoy killing humans. He never realized what he was missing from his life until his world collides with Emily's late one night.

Kenric was out on patrol alone and was attacked by another vampire and left to die in the alley. Emily was late for work late one night and took another route to get to the hospital and ended up on the same alleyway that Kenric was lying in. She calls 911 when she discovers he's bleeding and follows to the hospital. Right from the start Emily is entranced by Kenric and how handsome he is. She's about to head home for the night when Kenric awakes and desperate for some blood drinks from her neck. From that moment Kenric was attracted to Emily but vowed that he would never make her his. He takes her home and when she awakens tries to explain everything to her and asks for her help to clear his visit to the hospital. While Emily is reluctant to comply, she finds herself helping him and at the same time falling for him. They both try as hard as they can to keep their distance from one another but it's more difficult than either one of them imagined.

But with every story there are those who want to rip their happiness apart and in this case it's his creator who still dreams of one day making him her mate. Unknown to him she is much closer than he thinks and will use those around him against him to draw him back to her even invading his dreams while he is sleeping. I loved the other characters in this book and also that there was another forbidden love story in the background of this story between one of the enclave warriors and a human who lives within the enclave. This was a great start to the series and Kenric completely changed my mind towards paranormal novels and I will be looking for more of these types of books in the future. I absolutely loved Kenric and cannot wait to see what the other books in the series will hold. Thank you Jessica for writing such an amazing book, 5 stars!

4.0 out of 5 stars This book jumps you right into the action 19 July 2013
By Ondreea - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Way to start a book. This book jumps you right into the action.

Long story short, Kenric St. James is a master vampire from 1700's England and originator of the group called the Enclave. The Enclave is the group of vampires that protect humans from the bad vampires. Kenric was kidnapped, raped, and turned by a female vampire 300 years prior; once he escaped he vowed to defend humanity and revenge against the one who brutalized him and stole his humanity. Kenric has been alone personally since that time until he runs into nurse Emily who saves him and ends up being is soul mate.

Overall, great story and over arching story for the series. I liked the fact that this book showed a male being a victim of a female despite the misconception and stigma that surround those types of situations in our modern society. One aspect of the story I personally did not like was the premise that by dint of nature and general rule, female vampires were weaker than male vampires. I know the author had this premise to support the mating and bonding aspect she goes into, but I didn't care for it. Also at one point, Emily does something I personally found weak and morally reprehensible but Kenric forgives her.

However, there are many points and aspects to the story and some interesting characters that as a reader I want to know more about. Arron is one of the characters and I want the story between him and Markus, him and Logan, and him and Elle. Michael is a human helping them and his backstory would be interesting to know as well.

REVIEW:
I love a book with a hot, sexy vampire hero! I loved Undying Destiny! I was captivated from the fist page and it held my attention until I turned the last page. Jessica Lee is a new author for me and when I saw the hot cover for the book on NetGalley, I decided to request it after seeing the publisher was Entangled. Entangled Publishing had been publishing a lot of great books lately. I am so glad I requested it because I found another great paranormal author. The story had everything I look for in a great book. Undying Destiny was a great story with a plot that drew me in and I loved the characters. Kenric and Emily meet by chance and are instantly drawn to one another. Their adventure begins from there. Their story had plenty of action, mystery, suspense, and steamy romance. I am looking forward to the next book and I highly recommend this book for vampire lovers!
