A really good read. Well depicted characters and wonderful assortment of plots, turns and twists. Excitement when required, and great portrayal of tensions between the friends and foes.
They should make a mini series on the exploits of Andy Horton.

A great procedural murder mystery.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 February 2013Verified Purchase
Set against the stunning backdrop of the south coast, once again Portsmouth succumbs to the seedy criminal underworld of murder and intrigue. This is the best book in the series to date, and can not only stand alone as a great read, but is a must for those readers following Andy Horton in his quest for answers to his hidden past. Fast paced from beginning to end and totally gripping, Pauline Rowson can always be relied upon to give us a great story.
Horton is a modern day 'Bergerac' and should definitely be on TV. I can't wait for the next instalment.

Crime writing at its best!

I am a great fan of the wonderful Pauline Rowson. Her crime novels always hit the mark. The plots twist and turn, keeping the reader gripped to the very end. DI Andy Horton is my favourite fictional detective, and Undercurrent is one of his best adventures yet. If there's a petition to get him on TV, just show me where to sign.

The plot thickens regarding Andy's Mum .....................

As usual, a well constructed plot and excellently written book which keeps you guessing until the last minute. I have never come to the right conclusion on Pauline Rowson's culprits, but !am dying to find out about DI Horton's mum. I really hope she's still alive!
