I’m often asked to write Forewords to new books but most don’t offer the quality and depth of research that, in my opinion, would justify an endorsement. I made an exception in the case of Manu Seyfzadeh’s Under the Sphinx because this brilliant book, though a tough read, is the first substantial and significant addition to human knowledge concerning the Great Sphinx of Giza since the breakthroughs of 1990’s in which I had the privilege to be involved.
Here, to whet the appetite of readers who are determined to get to the bottom of the Sphinx mystery, are a few brief hints of what emerges from the evidence, arguments and erudition that Manu brings to bear:
A massive lion statue stood at Giza long before the Fourth Dynasty, at which point – roughly around the accepted date of 2550 BC – it was re-carved with a human head to take the form of the Sphinx.
An archive of prehistoric documents was stored in a portable wooden container in a chamber beneath the lion predecessor of the Sphinx.
After a breach, this archive was later removed to another place but certain priestly officials continued to have access to it.
Reproduced in art and hieroglyphs on the coffin of a high-ranking ancient Egyptian nobleman, information leaked from the archive reveals that the records once held beneath the Sphinx contained exact scientific knowledge of the workings of the solar system – knowledge that was far in advance of anything possessed by the ancient Egyptians and that the ancient Egyptians themselves did not understand.
As I’ve long maintained, the Sphinx is one of the fingerprints of a lost civilization of remote prehistory. Manu Seyfzadeh’s book brings us one step closer to proving that controversial case.
