Product Description

Floriana is a seemingly ordinary art student, until an exciting opportunity to study ancient Greek relics introduces her to long-held secrets and shockingly dangerous truths.

Her life becomes altogether extraordinary when a seemingly benign morning excursion transforms into an agonizing race across Europe to save humanity. Soon, she must work against the clock to recreate an antidote to save mankind before nostalgic Nazi militias make good on their plan to create a legion of superhuman zombie-soldiers that will wreak havoc on mankind.

As the heir apparent to a family of masterminds, Floriana is the only one capable of thwarting their efforts, but first she’ll come face-to-face with black roses, presumptive killers, and mysterious sects.

With the fate of the world in her hands, can an inexperienced and clumsy art student create an antidote before it’s too late?

Find out in this adrenaline rushing, young adult thrill ride, chock full of espionage, conspiracy theories, spies, and zombies!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Race to Save Mankind With Some Twists 2 June 2017
By Jennifer Brown - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I was assigned this book in a review exchange group. It is something I don’t typically read so a lot of it was slow going for me but there were some twists in the story line that impressed me.
Basically what you have is an art student who gets thrown into this huge race to save mankind with a group of people known as The Order of The Black Rose. She also discovers her family has a huge role in all this, which also leads to her decision to participate in saving the world.
If you are a fan of zombie fiction this is the read for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun read for all ages 2 May 2017

The Undead Must Die, Episodes I & II, (The Order of the Black Rose, Books 1)
by Penny BroJacquie was a different sort of read. I see others calling YA. I didn't see it as exclusively YA. It's an any age book.

When our heroine meets Eric she is smitten. And shaking his hand is electrifying -- or so she thinks until she wakes up on board a boat. From there Floriana is swept into a world she didn't know exsisted.

The search for the fountian of youth and Hitler's quest for the perfect super soldier have combined to create zombies--and Floriana and Eric are part of stopping the end of the world.

This was a light hearted fun read. Floriana's pov is sometimes humorous and she reacts to things like any of us would thrust into her situation.

A completely enjoyable book.

The Undead Must Die, Episodes I & II, (The Order of the Black Rose, Books 1)
by Penny BroJacquie

4 stars - - - Good for Teens through Thirties (or older)

Floriana is in Greece visiting ancient ruins when she meets Eric, a handsome stranger, and is swept away. Quite literally onto a Yacht in the Mediterranean. Eric is joined my Maite and Egon who proceed to explain to her what seems like some cloak and dagger novel type story. This is about where I was definitely interested to find out the rest of the story.

Along her journey of discovery, she is swept into a world she never knew existed; the Order of the Black Rose. She learns of a "virus" that turns humans into the undead, zombie like creatures. The story itself is interesting. A quest by Hitler to create the super soldier, and a more noble quest to find a key to health and longevity, lead to murder, mystery, and intrique. The ending is somewhat HEA with all issues resolved, but I am left wondering what the next book entails. Is Floriana to be the primary heroine or will each subsequent book be about another child who in the end finds out her world is not what it seemed to be. Either prospect has possibilities.

I rated this book a 4 because it kept my interest and has me asking questions like; what next, more children who once grown find out they belong to this order, is Floriana going to be a central figure in all the books, what about Eric?

5.0 out of 5 stars Dawn of the Undead 14 May 2017
By Jen Selinsky - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Floriana is a young student enjoying a vacation in Greece. She gets more than she bargains for, however, when she first encounters a young man by the name of Eric. He invites her to a festival shortly before he touches her hand, thus drugging her. When Floriana comes to, she is notified that her help is needed. The Order of the Black Rose requires her assistance in cracking a vital code. Also, they need her to help fend off a hoarde of undead beings who were created to destroy the world. Will Flora be of any valuable assistance? Read the book to find out. "The Undead Must Die Episodes 1 & 2" is a short, yet engaging read, and it leaves the reader hungry for more!

5.0 out of 5 stars mindless zombies 9 February 2017
By Anna del C. Dye - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
The Undead Must Die by Penny Brojacquie is comprised of episodes one and two in the first book of the Order Of The Black Rose Series. It is great reading for anyone who likes adventure with a good plot. The setting is an island in Europe across the Mediterranean sea. Penny gives you a great idea of what it looks like there.
The story tells of an ancient people that is devoted to saving mankind from their own wrongdoings. Like in a great tale, there are other ancient people in it too, but these are the evil doers. The Order of the Black Rose are the good people and they are running out of time to save mankind from becoming mindless zombies with extraordinary physical powers. It takes one bite from an infected person to contaminate another, and there are many waiting to be unleashed on the cities of mankind.
The Order of the Black Rose knows where the paper containing the antidote recipe is and they also know there is only one person who can decipher it, Floriana. Floriana doesn't know anything about The Order of the Black Rose and, because of the lack of time, they have to kidnap her to keep her from falling into the wrong hands. She can't believe what they want, because their tale is hard to swallow and she is just an art student; how is she supposed to save the world? To see if she helps or not, you will have to read the book. The Undead Must Die by Penny Brojacquie is a wisp of fresh air in this genre and I enjoyed the clean contemporary story a lot.
