I just finished Un covering love and was looking forward to reading Jon and Kates story.
These two have so much pent up frustration and anger, but when they gave off its explosive.
After serving his county, Jon had returns to civilian life. Starting a PI business with his friend Evie, keeping him busy and mind occupied.
When Kate is unexpectedly homeless, a vacant room allows these two to become roommates for a few weeks and the sparks are explosive.
With harbouring feelings since high school and secrets she hasn't shared, can Kate overcome her fear and let Jon in?

When these two were together it was amazing, when they weren't fighting it was entertaining, but Kates hot/cold and secrets became a bit much and I think would have been good revealed about earlier so we knew why she is the way she is.

Though Carlys story I am so excited to read, she seems so sweet and those two adorable boys.... aaaaahhhhhhh

5.0 out of 5 stars Two strong people find their happily ever after 7 December 2015
By Arizona Writer - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I enjoyed this book very much! It's a great story, heart-breaking at times, funny at others. I don't want to give away spoilers/plot, so I'm not going to get into the specifics, but Shea developed her characters very well, with subtle nuances that reveal past history/pain, and she built the tension skillfully both for each character (internal conflict) and between the two main characters, Jon and Kate. It was a quick read that had a nice balance of light and dark -- plenty of humor, and a fair amount of angst. I liked Jon and Kate (both good people who have been through tough times in their lives), think they work well together, and enjoyed how they related to each other and the other characters in the book. The end result is that this reader wanted to know more about their inner demons and the reasons they had difficulty with relationships. Shea is a master at quick, snappy dialogue that made me smile/tugged at my heartstrings and want to read more. Our couple got together a bit later in the book -- different from some other romance novels I've read, and a refreshing change -- and there's plenty of heat between them. Sex scenes were fantastic. :-) I also liked that the chapters switched off between Kate's and Jon's point of view, particularly since there was a strong "unrequited love" aspect to the story; again, refreshing and different from other novels in the genre. Most of the conflict was internal, rather than external, and that is the one suggestion I'd make for future -- to also mix in a strong external conflict. (There was potential conflict with another suitor, but that didn't come to life for me -- I could tell Kate wasn't really interested. A strong external conflict would give the reader more twists and turns to navigate.) Overall: 4.5 stars, which I round up to 5. Looking forward to reading more of this author!! (Note: I received an ARC for an honest review.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book 30 October 2015

Kacey Kacey Kacey....Girl you did it again! Loved this book. You managed to make me laugh one minute and cry the next, I felt like I was there with both Kate and Jon the entire time. I loved that the characters weren't perfect and had flaws that we got to explore with them. I loved the story line and the depth of the emotions shared. I seriously adored this book! My Son's middle name is Jon (so that was a little weird at some moments (haha) but I loved his character so I got over it ;) !) Kick ass characters, awesome back story, great friendships, wonderful ride! Great book, must read for sure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Uncovering Desire is fantastic! I love Kate and Jon 19 February 2016
By Heather Black - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Where has Ms. Shea been hiding? It is hard to believe this is her debut series! Kacey Shea has officially been added to my “go-to author” list.
Uncovering Desire is fantastic! I love Kate and Jon. Everything about the two of them is perfect. Kate is perfectly, imperfect. Jon, my sweet book boyfriend, Jon is a little broken and a whole lot sexy!! They are a perfect match. Jon and Kate struggle with their feeling for each other, each misunderstanding what the other is feeling. This novel has just enough drama to keep us interested without dragging out the story. When Jon and Kate tumble into the bedroom it is explosive. Jon is my kinda book boyfriend! He sounded so sweet and innocent in book one, Uncovering Love. His out of the bedroom persona continues in this book, sweet and caring, I would almost say a little unexperienced. However, you get him in the bedroom and holy wow he has a mouth on him! Not so innocent! Love it! In this novel we get the answers to the questions raised in book one, “what changed Kate.” We also get a better insight into Jon’s feeling about his 8 years in the Army.
We get more of Evie, Tate, Carly and the boys in this book. The band, 3 Ugly guys is introduced in this novel setting up for a second love interest for Kate, throwing Jon in a tailspin of jealously. Once again, Kacey Shea has written a novel that is full of well-rounded characters. Her Hero and heroine are well thought out; the secondary characters have a perfect balance of adding to the story yet not taking away from the leads or the main storyline. I truly enjoyed each character, even the guys in the band I want to know more about. Kacey Shea has set the readers up for a continuing series with the addition of 3UG. I want more! More of Kate and Evie’s friendship, more of Tate and Evie, Jon and Kate, and defiantly more of the hot guys of the rock band 3UG.
I have to add, I am more than excited that Uncovering Hope is being released in March 2016. Carly’s book! I cannot wait to get my hands on that baby, and catch up with all my friends, and really “meet” Carly and find out her back story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Life is good Great job Great friends Doing well for yourself Your ... 15 December 2015

Broken but.....

Life is good

Great job

Great friends

Doing well for yourself

Your coping.

Kate works for a photography studio she loves her job she is doing well for herself and has come along way. She has her coping mechanism.... yoga when things are getting her down or she is stressed she runs for her yoga mat it keeps her centered it calms her it keeps her focused especially when things aren't going to plan. Kate likes control she needs it she craves it.

Jon is back from the army and is living with his best friend Evie. He has issues from being in the army, his dealing with them himself.

He likes her.

He wants her.

She infuriates him.

Shes sassy.

He needs her.

Kate and Jon go around in circles they want each other but there scared of the commitment. Kate doesn't think she is good enough for him but he needs her but doesn't think she wants him.
Will Jon and Kate ever get themselves together enough to be together?

We liked Jon and Kate's story it held our attention most of the time. Some parts we just thought for gods sake just get together but other parts were a bit sad.

We liked there story but we were just waiting for something to give us that wow factor or that twist or turn it was pretty predictable but was just lacking the stand out.

Well written by Kacey will be interesting to see where her writing leads to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kate, is my kind of girl! 28 October 2015

ARC provided by author for honest review.

This story can be read as a standalone, but I suggest you read the first book in the series called ‘Uncovering Love’ <3

With Uncovering Desire, the series continues with Kate & Jon, which are both Evie’s (book 1) best friends.

Kate: out going, tenacious and is known for having a bit of a reputation with the fellas. But that’s just Kate, and it’s what I love about her. She doesn’t apologize for who she is… My #1 girl.

Jon: God, where to start with him. I need to be honest… He wasn’t my favorite. Since book one, there was something about him that I didn’t like. I honestly think it was the way he would insult Kate and say the wrong things at the wrong times. And I wasn’t having it. Like I said, Kate’s my #1 girl. But I need to be fair, he knew what he wanted when it came to being romantic with someone. When he settled down with someone, he wanted to make sure it was with the one. And I can’t blame him for that. So he got a couple points there from me :)

But God, these two. The push and pull and sexual tension. Drove me crazy!!! I just wanted to lock them up in a room… NAKED! So they would be able to work through their demons and find a way to make it work between the two, because it was obvious they were meant to be.

Kacey, really had me pulling my hair out with this book. I’m looking forward to reading book 3 in this series.
