The Synopsis pretty much sums up this book its a 3 part serial Novella. The novellas will be around 50K and eventually will be combined into one paperback.
The first book introduces us to the characters Eden and Jasper, they are first loves separated by circumstances and mistakes of the past, but even though they both state that they don't want any more lies between each other they DO KEEP BIG ONES! and its frustrating to be honest, I am not really a fan of books based on misdirection (well in thrillers and crime that's par to the course but in a romance, no I am not keen)
There is a subplot in the background to do with the MC club on top of a few other relationship issues from the supporting cast, and just when you think that the books going to start getting somewhere, it stops and you are left hanging for what will happen next, the author has taken the path of a serial Novella series which has proved popular in today's Dark Romance market, and I have not taken any stars off for it being a series novella.
The story gets you involved from the start, Eden (Edie) has been trying to take care of her sister since her father nearly killed her and was sent to prison, shes scarred physically and emotionally, and when she hears her father will soon be out on parole she contacts the Angels Warriors MC who are a "good" MC club. This puts her back in the path of her first and probably only Love - Jasper.
Now Jasper has tried to be a good person but I think with the parental guidance he had he nor Eddie for that matter have great role models. So he and Edie have some major barriers to jump over to get to their HEA and I guess that is what the 3 books will be about. With all the lies and secrets in the plot you can't really get a fix on where the story is going. But I did guess a plot twist quite early and this secret is the one that causes the rift at the end, leaving the reader wanting to knock Jasper over the head and Kick Edie up the bum to say god woman shout out and defend your actions - stop being a wimp.
So to my thoughts on the book overall: I had to go back and start again a few times when the POV changed BUT there are Chapter headers that have the Persons POV name, so It was just a case of looking at the picture - it being small on my Phone Ap was also part of the cause - it was much easier to read on my ipad but it was charging up and I wanted to carry on to see what would happen.
With the many sub plots you are left with lots of questions - only one really get answered in this book, oh and one threat seems to get sorted out quickly but why and how that relates to that certain subplot is still left a mystery.
So in ending - I enjoyed getting into the authors head and meeting these characters who were fast friends as children but now are in a melting pot of mistrust, failed relationships and secrets.
I think if I was actually buying this series I would want to wait and get the full set - but that's just my preference as I am not a lover of cliff hangers.
