There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Setup was a breeze. All four members of the house had fingerprints and pin codes entered in no time.
I had to adjust (twist) the pins on the wifi adapter to make it fit AU socket.
App is very easy to use and nicely layed out. The log is clear and useful to see when the lock has been used.
Only had it for 1 month but apart from the occasional fingerprint misreading the lock is performing as expected.
Sadly for me its now the second brand I have used that don't work, these, not so smart locks, are someones good idea thats not practical in the real world. There is too many outside factors that can make these locks fail, wifi, batteries, bridges, drop outs, power supply etc etc, issues like these just give the people who make them lots of excuses to blame others for the junk they sell us...
These smart locks sound like a great idea, until you have them installed and you cannot get in your house or cannot lock it when you leave, or some annoying beep that tells you every few weeks that they need more batteries....
I am starting to realise there is no such thing as a smart lock, stick with the cheaper key lock or key pad if you want ease, just read the real reviews from people who own these things,
Also, compared to other devices the Bluetooth range of the lock is not great.
My only issue with the product is that the exterior panel keeps dropping forward when the door is closed firmly. There is a metal tensioner in the mechanism that is just not strong enough for the job. I ended up wedging BluTac into the joint to firm it up. A little disappointing for what is otherwise a great lock.
30 July 2020 Update: I bought the wifi bridge from the Australian distributor (digitron) who had already converted the device for 240v. Easy setup and makes the unit even more versatile, with remote lock and unlock. Only issue is that the unit needs to be within 4 metres of the lock or it starts failing to connect.
I had read reviews that this was difficult to install, so I watched a video and followed the instructions very carefully and installation was quite straight forward. It's in a position where it was hard fumbling with keys with hands full. Reading fingerprints is a bit hit or miss - it appears to work best when it has been left to lock itself. We also use the entry code or unlock the door from our phones. I'm generally pleased with the device.
- Excellent value for the price your pay. There aren't that many on the market that offers so many unlocking features e.g. fingerprint, proximity, passcode
- Looks great
- Fantastic customer service. Their response speed is lightning fast
Con:
- The software is not as good as the hardware. It took me a while to set up and configure properly for the whole family. Their user manual can be improved
- Need Wifi-bridge for the remote locking feature to work. Also, I found that without the wifi-bridge, the proximity unlocking is not that accurate. It unlocks my door when I'm still a block away from the house.
- I still can't get it to connect to Alexa or Google Home
Overall, I'd still recommend this product. Comparing to other pricier brands, you definitely get more bang for the buck with Ultraloq.

Let's start with the install. There are so many things during the physical install that can cause the lock to not function it becomes an extensive guessing game to troubleshoot with multiple uninstalls and re-start from scratch. From the tailpiece being too long (even when the length conforms to the range in the instructions), to screws being too tight, to the wire bundle not being positioned well behind the interior mechanism... the lock won't work. Unless you hit the lotto numbers on your first try, expect to spend a couple of hours on the install.
Now the set up. The instructions said that once the unit was installed and the batteries first installed, it would go through an automatic process the learn the door handing. It didn't. You have to go into the app to set the hand direction. Once that was done, the app and the exterior of the lock would control it fine.
During the first day the firmware needed to update. After updating the firmware, the lock stopped working. Trouble shooting articles tell you to reset the handing after a firmware update. Which I tried, and it still didn't work. What I actually had to do was set the hand to the wrong side, let the process fail, then set it to the correct side.
The lock feature I was most interested in was the geofencing. The first time out of the house then back, it worked and automatically unlocked my door. The second time it failed. It wourked the two times after that, but I was already inside with the door locked behind me when it recognized me as home and opened the lock. I timed this today, and it takes about 2 minutes from when I get to my driveway until my phone and the bridge are talking and the lock is instructed to unlock. I believe this would be solved if the phone app could remain connected to the bridge via the internet (like MyQ for my garage door) instead of just over your home LAN.
Finally, Google Assistant integration. Because let's face it, home automation is really why we're buying smart locks. Setting up the bridge and linking then adding the device was simple and went smoothly. When I first tested out voice commands, I could lock and unlock it, but it failed to give me the correct lock status if I asked for that. After about half a day, the voice commands to lock an unlock stopped working. But hey, it started to report the correct status. On day 2, both the status and activation commands failed to work. On day 3 both the status and activation commands worked. Weird.
It would be nice if the developers used smart key technology on the physical lock so you can have a single key for your house. If you plan to intall multiple units on your house, you will need a different physical key for each one.

When it is working it is ok. The auto-unlock feature only works about 30-40% of the time & the fingerprint scanner will not work if your fingers are even a little damp from rain/humidity. Minor complaints compared to the above but worth noting.
I would not buy from this company again.
