I'm getting a little tired of completing my goals, only to have the bar raised too substantially for me to transition at a productive pace...
I started off as a sad little ghost with an impossible crush on four really hot, Gothic guys with some attitude problems. Now I'm The Apocalypse, they're the Four Horsemen, and Lucifer is my fucked up daddy. Now my additional goals look like this?
Goal #9: Make a deal with the Devil without getting cheated, manipulated, or tricked.
Goal #10: Make my boys love me and take over the world...okay...so maybe just that first part. That second part sounds like it could take too much ambition, and I just don't have the drive for that.
Goal #11: Make cookies.
Goal #12: Call dibs on my favorite color.
Goal #13: Find out if my siblings or my father killed me and my boys...

I loved book 1, for some reason the end of book 2 and the start of book 3 were just not cutting it for me, and I was just kind of getting through it, but then the last 50% got me back on track and loving the series all over again -
This book has near 0 steam, but it is resolving many issues and all the secrets are revealed - am looking forward to the next book!
Audible book is amazing FYI - the narrator is just wonderful!

What an absolutely fantastic third book in this exciting series! I got this book and inhaled it in one sitting. As soon as I started reading I was truly captivated by Paca, her guys and her weirdly funny family! In this book we finally start to find out what happened to Paca and why, however, I am still left with information gaps that I good get answered in the next book! I got a little annoyed at the guys again in this book..once again they make Paca feel left out, I hope they really start to bring her into the decisions in the next book! In the book we really start to see them develop together and I think that Gage really shines in this book and what he brings to Paca. I hope we see the others step up in book four! This is a book that is full of laugh out loud moments, excitement, suspense, action and passion. I highly recommend the whole series!!

Didn't enjoy book 3 as much as the first two. Paca, is starting to grate. And the whole they don't love me as much as I want them is repetitive and wallow much? Then we get an explanation of who murdered her and why - and all I can say is WTFF??? That was just stupid, and I still didn't understand it and it took the author five plus chapters to explain it.
I'll read book 4, but only because it was free otherwise I might have been tempted to just stop here - fingers crossed it is better than this instalment in the series

Too much going on this book for my head to keep straight. Paca is facing the end of the world but not without her 4 boyfriends, the Devil, her siblings and even the Angels have an agenda, don’t trust anyone in Hell. And don’t trust the neutral Harold, because he killed her after all. Confused yet, me too?

I really loved the first two books, but parts of this one drove me insane. Kristy Cunning (C.M. Owens) writes such strong and amazing characters and she has away of crafting beautiful stories. But, there were quite a few typos in the book that I couldn't look past and there were times when I would have loved the main guys to be front and centre more then they were.
Still, I love this series and will be looking forward to the next book!

Love this series. The MC is badass as well as funny. Her ramblings are entertaining. Her harem is stunned by her ramblings at times. Love the audio's on the 3 books.

This story grabbed me and wouldn't let go, it was fantastic. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the story. Paca is do much fun to read and her guys are great especially when they interact with her. Definitely want to read the next one.

I quite liked the first book of the series and the second was good too. This one though... the heroine became extremely annoying and the storyline stalled. The romance was not good either - the heroes just disregard her too much.

So, let’s go back a bit to catch up! In Three Trials Paca finally learned of her true identity, this woman is none other than the Devils favourite daughter. As one of the Devils heirs, she’s filled with both purities and impurities because, you know, the perfect balance must be maintained. This seems to be one of Paca’s specialties especially after, she gave the four men a piece of herself. So, who are they all? Well the four men are none other than the Four Horsemen and as a very vein creature, who could she but The Apocalypse?
In this third instalment of the Dark Side series, we get to know even more about Paca, her four Horsemen, daddy dearest and her siblings:
Lilith
Hera (yep, THAT Hera)
Cain
Manella
The Twins
This book starts pretty much exactly where Two Kingdoms left us, when Apocalypse goes to hell to kill her father. Just before that though, she had her harem sent away, so they’re not up to speed on what’s happening and can’t reach her. Something they’re less than happy about, which they let her know the second she returns.
We also finally learn who originally killed not only Apocalypse, but also her harem, and most importantly; why! Turns out that all the Devils children, well I suppose technically they’re more creations – anyway, all of them are weapons. Since a pure champion failed his duties, to take down a beast, Apocalypse apparently sided with her father and had plans to seal off hell. So, instead she was killed and, it turns out the recycling of her men was done as a mercy by one of her siblings. However, nothing is as it seems and all things are pointing towards one thing: Apocalypse allowed herself to be killed and, had some kind of backup plan. The problem now is that whilst she managed to somehow come back to life, she still has no memories. She has echoes of memories that sometimes surface, but it’s far from all the time.
The resurrection that should have been impossible have the purest wondering, if she could be the champion. So, they want to test her powers, not truly believing that her memories are gone. Those tests are both physically and psychologically exhausting. The psychological one proves to be the worst, showing her own biggest fear. The illusion created specifically to test her proves to be particularly cruel, when it also interferes with the relationship between Apocalypse and her harem.
We also learn that Apocalypse’s balance is being selflessly selfish, or selfishly selfless, depending on her take on it – either way she must be both in order to keep the balance. Each hell spawn has their own trade mark, like Lilith’s gifts come with a curse for balance.
I realise I’m kind of just describing some of the fantastic scenes in the book, giving a lot of details on some parts, while neglecting others completely. I usually try to not write reviews like that and, write about my overall impression instead. However, this book makes that almost impossible. There’s so many things going on and so many different feelings being felt, which makes it damn hard to do. So, what else can I say? I loved every single word that Kristy have written.
The voice of Apocalypse is so refreshingly unique. She’s truly one of the most awesome heroines I’ve met. The way she views the world
“I bet that’s in the How To Control Your Harem guidebook.”
Her main impurity is vanity, which shows at the most awkward and inopportune moments which is absolutely hilarious. Like maybe while fighting for your life isn't the best time to stop and admire your crown, but that certainly doesn't stop the Apocalypse. And I wouldn't have it any other way. So, if you like anti-hero characters with over the top lame puns and dark humour, you should definitely give this series a chance.
I need a handbook: How to Sync Mensies with Your Harem.
I cannot recommend this book and series enough so if possible, I would have given it 5++++++++ stars.

When you're on to a good thing you just want more more more and more!!
I never want this series to end! Never EVER!!
I Love Paca! I love the Horsemen, not just one of them or two or three but ALL FOUR OF THEM!! I would 100% sell my soul to the Devil for them. No problem at all. Have it!! Take it!!
The story continues to throw you for a loop. The twists and turns are amazing and keep you strung there until the end. Then by the time you get to the end you want more. Then because you want more you go and re-read the books previously released. Then because that's not enough you read this again and it's just one continuous loop of re-reads! LOL
Just bloody brilliant this series is and if you haven't read it then there is something wrong with you. No lie! Go the doctors and i can guarantee you he will prescribe these books for you to get lost in.
Excited for the last book but man am i dreading this series ending. Maybe another series where they're living different lives again? Oooooooooh i would die for that!!
If this review isn't proof, i highly recommend this series. This author is just amazing!!

Third book in a fabulous series. I adore the MFC, and I'm weakening for the harem too now, understanding them and their choices more. They finally seem to understand hwo she is to them, and value and cherish her with all the ridiculously hot and NSFW moments she needs.
Their are still constant moments of terro, where they might not win, or even survive this. Yet equally still brilliantly well written, with awesome outfit changes, and 90s references that make me feel young at heart.
Quickly becoming one of my fave series, something I could read or listen to again and again (bought both on kindle and now on Audible too), love the voice actor!!

Not as good as the previous two books
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 July 2018Verified Purchase
Not as good as the previous two books. Although this book is still witty with a high octane fast pace, it feels like it has lost something that was present in the first two books which has caused this book to suffer. The relationship between Paca and the guys is strained and it almost feels like other than sexual attraction the guys don't actually like Paca all that much. I am hoping that this is a plot device that was just a touch too successful as I fell out of love with these characters a little bit. The information on who killed Paca and why is interesting but there was a lot of telling and not showing. I felt like someone was telling me the story rather than falling into the world and witnessing it for myself. Overall I still rate the book highly but hope that the fourth book has a marked improvement on this one.

Missed the mark...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 August 2018Verified Purchase
I loved the first 2 books but I felt like this one lacked content and feeling. It was mainly Paca's internal dialogue and a few conversations and not much else. The storyline also got a bit confusing at times as well and I felt that it was more of an inbetween book to bridge the gap between books 2&4 and for me it just fell flat. I was also disappointed that nothing really romantic happened between Paca and the 4 guys and Jude spent most of the book acting indifferent towards Paca. I love C.M. Owens and I still want to know how everything turns out in book 4 because I do love the story itself. This one just didn't do it for me...
