Word of advice - do not decide to read the first chapter of Twist at your desk during your lunch break! If you are like me you will have to explain the shimmering eyes and upset face!

Right from the get go Twist gripped me vice like around the heart and didn't let go until I closed the book.

But from horrible beginnings, our lovelies Joe and Alex tell a wonderful story. It is not all sweetness and light, but as they forge a new relationship, all kinds of secrets come to the fore.

I loved that we got more of the Dive Bar crew - I may have LOL'd at Vaughan at times. I am still not rue what I think of Joe's brother Eric, but I do adore this rag tag bunch of friends.

I cannot confirm nor deny that our favourite rock stars may make an appearance too!

I laughed, I cried, I got angry (oh so angry at times!) but I could not put this book down.

No I am impatiently waiting for the next book, Chaser!

I had high expectations for the 2nd book in this series and for the majority of it I felt it was great, it was that last 30% that dropped that 5th star for me!
The first 70% of the book was fantastic and I love seeing Joe and Alex develop their romance, it had this authors usual stamp of humours banter and situations that had me really enjoying the dive bar characters!
It was the last bit that had me raising my eyebrows and saying.... what the!!! It almost felt that Joe had a personality overhaul and his behaviour was a bit odd. Alex then turned into a clingy doormat who got walked all over and then she ran!!! Yep really crappy circumstances/events but it was a bit like two different characters had emerged. Then the super quick reuniting of Nell and Pat was all a bit much!!!
Loved seeing the little snippets of Mal and Jimmy and the bubs! Overall and enjoyable read and even though the ending left me a little bit meh....I most definitely will be continuing with the series.

This is the second book in this series and I absolutely loved it. Alex has been talking to who she thinks is Eric Collins but in actual fact it is his brother Joe. After going to meet Eric in person only to discover it is Joe that she has been talking to for months Alex is humiliated and angry. This book is full of every emotion possible from sexual attraction, friendship and sadness. Joe can't help but try to keep everyone happy and Alex is frightened to take chances so she always says no. These two decide to challenge each other with Joe pushing Alex out of her comfort zone and Alex encouraging Joe to finally put what he wants first and say no to people. With an accident that breaks all their hearts and brings an ex back to try and stake her claim will these two be able to see a future together. This book keeps you glued to the pages and even though this book will make you smile and laugh be prepared for the few tears you will shed.

I only put this one down to sleep, and even that was difficult because this was so much fun! Oh sure, it was heart breaking at times, but the overall plot kept me engaged from beginning to end. It was great to be back with the Dive Bar crew; I only wish it had been longer. I'm really excited for Eric's book now. My only complaints are that I wish Nell and Pat had gotten their own book or a novella. Their story felt rushed. And I also wish the ending hadn't felt so rushed for Alex and Joe. But again, that could be because I wasn't done spending time with them! Overall, this was fun, funny, sexy, and had a great amount of drama and angst. Bring on Chaser!

Once again Kylie Scott has given us an amazing hero, funny heroine and mixed it all with awesome secondary characters (including some of our favorites). Looking forward to Eric's story.

5++++ Stars

This book has it all and then some more. Kylie Scott is an automatic one-click author for me and although it is a big call, I'm going to make it; Twist is my favourite Scott book. I laughed. I cried. I screamed at my kindle in frustration. I loved every second.

The story is fresh and fast paced, with drama and humor from the start. Eric and Joe are brothers, who are nothing a like in either looks or personality. One is a metro-man and smooth talker, the other a deep thinking lumbersexual. Alex, our heroine, doesn't stand a chance! A graphic designer who works from home, she had always been socially awkward. She moves out of her comfort zone, traveling to Idaho to surprise the guy she has been chatting with online. Things develop unexpectedly from there, with twists and turns aplenty for The Dive Bar group.

What I love about all Kylie Scott books, Twist included, are these beautifully developed characters and the interactions between them. They are real and the dialogue between them authentic. I found myself giggling at something Alex said, as it was exactly what my girlfriend would say to me. I want to go to Coeur d'Alene and order a Whisky Sour from Joe, while Vaunghn sings some hideous 90's ballad. Side characters are not just window dressing, but add dimension and fullness to the story.
My heart broke, I cried and held my breath during a number of emotional scenes between supporting characters; who got to share their stories interwoven with the main focus. With this author's writing style nothing is redundant. Ever scene, every dialogue has a purpose. It all builds together to the book's climax.

Although Twist is book 2 of the Dive Bar series, it can be read as a stand alone.
