Right from the get go Twist gripped me vice like around the heart and didn't let go until I closed the book.
But from horrible beginnings, our lovelies Joe and Alex tell a wonderful story. It is not all sweetness and light, but as they forge a new relationship, all kinds of secrets come to the fore.
I loved that we got more of the Dive Bar crew - I may have LOL'd at Vaughan at times. I am still not rue what I think of Joe's brother Eric, but I do adore this rag tag bunch of friends.
I cannot confirm nor deny that our favourite rock stars may make an appearance too!
I laughed, I cried, I got angry (oh so angry at times!) but I could not put this book down.
No I am impatiently waiting for the next book, Chaser!
The first 70% of the book was fantastic and I love seeing Joe and Alex develop their romance, it had this authors usual stamp of humours banter and situations that had me really enjoying the dive bar characters!
It was the last bit that had me raising my eyebrows and saying.... what the!!! It almost felt that Joe had a personality overhaul and his behaviour was a bit odd. Alex then turned into a clingy doormat who got walked all over and then she ran!!! Yep really crappy circumstances/events but it was a bit like two different characters had emerged. Then the super quick reuniting of Nell and Pat was all a bit much!!!
Loved seeing the little snippets of Mal and Jimmy and the bubs! Overall and enjoyable read and even though the ending left me a little bit meh....I most definitely will be continuing with the series.
Alex shows up at 'Dive Bar' ready to finally meet "Eric" who she met on a dating site and has been emailing for six months. The problem is Eric has no idea who Alex's is. Joe steps up and confesses she had really been emailing him. Humiliated Alex runs back to her hotel but ends up coming down with the flu and Joe helps nurse her back to health.
I love that while there is plenty of tension and drama in this story it isn't overly gushy in its romance. When the characters open up to each other a bit at a time it feels honest and real. I also love that Alex and Joe are just two ordinary, hard working people with normal person issues and worries. I found them easy to relate to and it was even a little inspiring seeing them encourage each other to face their fears.
Twist is a great read. I'm having a ball spending time with the crew from Dive Bar and I look forward to the next book in this series.

Hooked from the first page. I've loved all of Kylie Scott's Stage Dive Series and I loved book 1 in The Dive Bar series, but I think this book may possibly be my favourite of them all. We get to see all the previous Stage Dive and Dive Bar characters, and I loved that so much, nothing like a catch up while meeting new friends. The newbies in question are Joe and Alex, two pretty much exact opposites who finally meet following months of emailing. After realising she's been duped online Alex is all for leaving the lies behind and going home (lesson learned). Joe however, is not willing to give in so easily and when Alex gets a bad bout of flu, Joe is the one nursing her back to health. Their friendship strikes back up and the chemistry between them heats up, things are looking up, they're both learning life lessons, and I'm happy. Then BAM! In the flick of an eye everything changes. My heart went out to the whole group, more so with Alex who I know was just coming out of her comfort zone. Nevertheless she tries her best to be there in Joe's time of need. Brilliantly written from Alex's POV, I laughed (Alex was hilarious), I cried and I prayed for a HEA. I was provided with an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
