Upon learning she is given a second chance, Edward is determined not to let her go this time. His chance of succeeding, however, seems like nil. 3.0 out of 5 stars Confused 25 January 2017

Okay loved the first book so i got the second book. Now I am a little confused. I am only about 30 percent into the book. In the first book Kat kept bemoaning that she wished she had a camera but that there was no cameras. Now when they get out of the carriage from their honeymoon there are cameras flashing. Then the all so sudden modern toilets and taps in the castle. A train takes them on their honeymoon. The way the first book made it sound was that they were way before any of these things were invented. So now why all of a sudden do they appear? I am hoping this book starts to get better but so far I am tired of listening to her repeat herself over and over.
3.0 out of 5 stars Ehhh...enjoyable when you don't feel like studying, but lame on its own. 12 May 2017

So I've noticed that boring things become really intersting when you are using them to procrastinate, such as from studying for a final in graduate school...that is the case with this story. The first in the series was free for download, so I read it, still didn't feel like studying for my final, and bought this one. Got halfway through it and it was enjoyable. Then...the semester was over and I was no longer reading this to procrastinate, but just reading for pleasure...and the pleasure wasn't really there anymore.

The book is not that well written and full of bad cliches. The characters are two-dimensional and then story is, well, boring. Plus there isn't even any resolution as the story ends on a cliff-hanger. I have no desire to read more. However, this book may be wonderful for pre-teens, as someone in their thirties, it was not for me.
5.0 out of 5 stars Finding 'Happily Ever After' isn't always easy. 4 April 2017

I really enjoy fairy tale retellings and this series is turning into one of my favorites. I was so excited when I learned the Ugly Stepsister would have a sequel ... I didn't want the story to be over for Edward and Kat. Twice upon a Time didn't disappoint. It did a good job of bringing a dose of reality into happy every after. Kat has to deal with the consequence of her decision from the previous book and even though she struggles to fit into life as Princess of Athelia, with Edward's help, she eventually finds her way... but that's when things really start going wrong. Kat's chosen a life that doesn't belong to her and by the end of the book, the odds seem insurmountable. I was left with two morals from this story: 1) when someone offers to give you exactly what you want, don't fall for it, and 2) never underestimate a jaded stepsister. If you enjoy fairy tales, this book is a good read. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Read 4 April 2017

I love this series. This is one of those books you want to finish in one sitting because you don't want to put it down. What can you do when you are stuck in a world you don't remember? Pretend you remember as best you can for as long as possible or until your memory comes back of course! It's such a nice romantic fairy tale but beware the name of the series is revealing. Still even knowing that, it's a very enjoyable journey that should be read.
4.0 out of 5 stars Hard to like this book, hard to not like it. 27 February 2017

For having a not-happy-ending, this story is surprisingly satisfying! I love that it's a clean romance. I'm so impressed with the author's ability to maintain tension and suspense. She did a great job taking a classic and spinning it so thoroughly that I didn't feel irked about it not being more true to the original. Some authors re-write classics and fail miserably, leaving me with annoyance. This story feels like what might happen if someone entered the story of Cinderella and changed the trajectory. I only hope that in the next book we see some fairies, learn what happened to a certain older woman, find out why Liam is so grouchy, and actually have a happily-ever-after for Kat and Edward.
