Ordered as a gift for my wife thinking it was a more premium, environmentally and socially responsible option than market leader Sodastream. While the Qarbo appears to look quality in photos the actual product feels very cheap. The plastic of the body casing is very thin and light almost that of a butter tub or toy packaging. The chrome finish however hides this well. The bottles and rest are attractive but also light weight.

I also suspect that it is a "label slap" with better marketing of an existing product available cheaper from other sources.

Also should be noted it is MADE IN CHINA.

That being said it gets excellent results and customer service is fast and efficient.

2 month update - So the first month was great no problems, however now for some reason it takes way more CO2 to produce fizzy drinks. Not sure if its a dodgy Sodastream refill or if theres a leak in the unit.

On reflection it doesnt seem as premium of a build as its price would suggest. The unit and the bottles are way too tall and are a bit inconvenient. I'm actually considering buying the automated sodastream machine now.

its an Aussie company! Made in China though

Dimensions:
The Qarbo water maker unit is 16 inches or 41cm in height.
The water bottles are 15 inches or 38 cm in height and hold 1 litre (800ml recommended).

Sadly, I can’t give 3.5 stars, but I think it’s unfair to round down. The product is plastic, not metal, so it looks good, but feels a bit cheap for the price.

The bottles look awesome, but they’re impractical. They’re too tall for most fridges, and if you remove some shelves in the door, and do fit them in, they fall out when you open the door as they’re so long and thin. The bottles are dreadfully designed. They look like Voss bottles, so I was going to buy spare bottles, but I think I’ll just get some glass Voss bottles instead, and fill them with the qarbo bottles.

I do like that it can be used with the soda stream bottles, but I do wish it came with one, as it isn’t very good value when you factor this in.

I tried sparkling rosé; it was nice, but it was already a great wine, so I’m not so sure I’ll do that again, and I do wonder how hygienic the machine would stsy if you keep using fruit and veggies in the water, with the soda stick sitting in it. Whilst it’s nice being able to sparkle anything, I had to ask myself, what would I like to sparkle? I used my sodastream for sparkling water; this could be good for sparkling apple juice and grape juice, but water is still the primary purpose. If you really imagine yourself making lots of sparkling juices for children (non alcoholic sparkling ‘wine’), it would be great. Just make sure you have room somewhere secure in the fridge
